You wouldn't defend someone who stole something and only gave a fraction of it back. But when you argue for the nicotine anxiety myth, you do exactly that.
Drug addiction increases anxiety. That is actually the main characteristic of any addiction: increased anxiety when you don't have the drug. The belief that vaping actually helps reduce anxiety is true to the extent that is solve for the anxiety it has created. In terms of non drug addiction related anxiety, vaping only temporarily distracts your from it without actually solving for or processing it.
