depending on what we've been dealt - we are so used to some things - that they seem to be expectations in our lives at this point.

if we're not careful - that can become white noise + we may not even notice it augmenting our sense of reality after a while.

learning how to stand up for ourselves - in a way that both honors our values + diffuses the situation - is a difficult practice but one that can afford the luxury of both hearing others + feeling heard.
