I couldn’t believe how hard it was to try a new fitness class this week. I walked out feeling embarrassed and deflated. As I walked home, I started thinking I should just give up. I stopped at a Tim Horton, grabbed tea and reviewed what just happened.
I was brave, I tried something I had never done before, I got anxiety, panicked, and left. Sure it was a failure, but I never got great at anything by quitting after the first try. I got great by never giving up, even when I totally blew it.
After calming down I went home, shared about what happened, and planned my next step. A huge part of success is staying motivated, failing forward and refusing to quit.
