63: Food Struggles? Re-Write your FOOD Story with Lori Harder

Listen Later

Three-time fitness world champion, cover model, and self-love junkie, Lori harder comes on the podcast to share her story with food. She shares how to use forgiveness, grace, and affirmations so we can change our stories. In the podcast Lori discusses how we can find our bliss and make changes to our circumstances.
Lori is also an author of the best selling book A Tribe Called Bliss, and founder of The Bliss Project. She is the master of turning our struggles into strengths.
This episode is for you if you struggle with food, you are ready to change, and you want to feel peaceful.
Lori takes us back to trying to fill a spiritual void, exhaustion and boredom with food. She talks about her journey of feeling empty, a prisoner to food, and feeling like she did not have control over what happened.
Lori gracefully explains how to stop being stuck in an identity, and worrying you are going to disappoint people. She reminds us we have to be willing to challenge everything in our lives. Then, we can step into who we are meant to be.
She explains that stepping into our truth or alignment happens slowly. We can get caught up in fast drastic change, but that is not the way real change happen. She reminds us that change happens in the grey space, and that it can be confusing. The “world’s smallest shifts” that are sustainable are key to big success.
She reminds us that we do not need to beat ourselves up, and use harsh self-coaching to reach our dreams. She teaches us we need to figure out what works and what does not, and if what we are doing really worked, we would be in a good place right now.
Lori shares how our brains are programmed and how we can reprogram our brains to hear things that we want. She teaches us how to create affirmations and thoughts that are helpful commands for our lives. She emphasizes that we have to work on switching our thoughts because the affirmation can be the anchor to a new choice. She shares current affirmation in her life right now and how they help her find her truth.
Lori gives suggestions about how to move forward in our relationships with women. Her tips are to remember most women are desperate for connection too, that a lot of our value is just in listening, and it can be powerful to share your story. She talks about the power of feeling like you matter, that this is often missing. She reminds us when we do not feel seen and heard we end up sabotaging, and instead of going to food, we can go to friends.
She reminds us that change can feel counter intuitive and scary, but to trust the little voice that wants to change.
In this episode we cover:
• Lori’s struggles with food
• Feeling like a prisoner with food
• Affirmations to change your food story
• Eating to feel your best
