EPISODE 761: David Gillespie on 1-2-14
EPISODE 762: Damon Gameau and Dr. Gary Fettke on 1-3-14
Today's featured lectures are with Dr. Troy Stapleton, a 42-year old radiologist who learned in October 2012 that he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and he started the standard diabetic dietary recommendations (low-fat diet with "healthy" whole grain intake) for two months after his diagnosis. After that failed him, he did some extensive research and switched over to a very low-carbohydrate diet in December 2012 with remarkable success. Listen to hear his personal journey and the science behind the LCHF approach. Here's the video footage of this presentation from the 2013 Low-Carb Down Under Seminar Series:
Then you'll hear from Dr. Zeeshan Arain, a Melbourne-based General Practitioner and current team doctor for the Melbourne Demons AFL team. His initial interest in nutrition and metabolism began several years ago when he was increasingly frustrated at being overweight despite eating a low-fat diet and exercising regularly. He has become a staunch advocator of low-carb, high-fat (LCHF) nutrition in the prevention of disease, weight loss and optimum quality of life. His presentation shares about his experience using nutritional ketosis with a variety of health benefits including weight loss, diabetes control, cardiovascular disease, cancer and more.
