Georganne Chapin, MPhil, JD, has been a crusader for human rights and access to universal quality health care throughout her career in public health. Today, she is the executive director of Intact America, the nation’s leading advocacy organization seeking to end the routine circumcision of baby boys in this country. Georganne says that even as a child she intuitively felt that cutting a baby boy’s genitals was strange and violent, but it was while studying to be an attorney that she realized the full bioethical and human rights implications of the practice.

As head of Intact America, Georganne has talked to hundreds of men and women who suffer sexually and emotionally the consequences of male genital cutting.
