Repressed anger.  Not allowed to be angry.

KIMBERLY grew up in a house where anger wasn't modelled. 

Her parents never fought. If she was upset or angry her parents would ignore her. By the time she got to college she didn't recognise anger or how to express it and she behaved in ways that appeared strange to others.

Growing up in an environment where anger is frowned upon means you never learn how to express what you are feeling. And being unable to express yourself can lead to a lack of self worth and confidence.

In this quick chat episode, Kimberly explains how she is learning to value herself by giving herself permission to put up boundaries and express what she needs.
