In the past two weeks I ran a 48 mile race and PR’ed a marathon. Your first thought is probably why or you’re crazy? Today I want to recap what I learned through both experiences and save your the trouble of going through either, unless of course you’re like me and enjoy a little crazy in your life. In the Austin marathon I finished in 3 hours and 12 minutes a 32 minute PR. The 48 mile “race” was known as the 4x4x48 David Goggins challenge where I ran 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours and I got to finish with Goggins himself while averaging my fastest 4 miles on miles 45 to 48 at 6:33/mile pace.
Today we look at:
-How to push through mental and physical barriers
-The impacts challenges like these have on your body long and short term
-How you can better regulate your nervous system to perform when you need to
-The importance of going slow at times
Forever Athlete Away Games coming to LA this May 5th-8th. It’s the best way to explore LA’s beautiful west side as we will be doing everything from personal development workshops to workouts on the beach. Eating our way around town at some of the best local hidden gems of course, and making lasting life teammates in the process. Our first one just wrapped in Austin and I promise you don’t want to miss this next one. Head over to www.foreverathletela.com to learn more and grab your limited tickets.
