Cal Newport is an associate professor of computer science at Georgetown University, where he specializes in the theory of distributed systems. Dubbed as the “Marie Kondo of technology” by Ezra Klein, Cal has dedicated his career to helping people develop healthier, more balanced relationships with modern technology. He is the author of 7 books, including the New York Times bestseller, Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World which offers a simple philosophy to help spend less time mindlessly tethered to their personal tech devices. He’s also a regular contributor on topics of Digital Minimalism and Deep Work to national publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Wired, and is a frequent guest on NPR. Cal’s upcoming book A WORLD WITHOUT EMAIL: Reimagining Work in a World of Communication Overload is about to premiere on March 2, 2021.
