What happens when you have bought all the courses, taken all the programs, followed all the conventional “wisdom” and your business is technically “working” but you’re not attracting as many perfect-fit clients, making as much profit, or having as much fun as you expected?
Find out the answer to these questions and more in this episode of the Driven Woman Entrepreneur Podcast.
In this episode, you will be able to:
The Boss Up Breakthrough
My signature coaching program, the Boss Up Breakthrough provides entrepreneurs with the guidance and tools necessary to streamline their businesses, identify their unique strengths and goals, and focus on what truly matters for long-term success.
Clients often have many great ideas, leading them to pursue multiple goals and projects simultaneously. However, this approach can result in missed opportunities and unfinished business.
I advocate for a flexible structure, creating order from chaos without telling clients what I think they should do. Through the Boss Up Breakthrough, entrepreneurs learn to focus on their most profitable ideas while creating an organized, simplified, and profitable business model that highlights their unique value.
This approach prevents burnout and ensures that businesses can adapt in response to changes in the market or clientele needs, all while maintaining a sense of organization and direction.
One of the core elements of achieving success with the Boss Up Breakthrough is addressing and overcoming negative mindset issues. Limiting beliefs, perfectionism, and fear of criticism or rejection are common problems that entrepreneurs face and can significantly impact their ability to grow and excel.
Recognizing one's own biases, blind spots, and attachments is an essential step in evaluating and improving one's business. This requires entrepreneurs to view their operations objectively and see where they may be slowing themselves down or hindering progress.

When Traci DeForge, a visionary entrepreneur and podcast industry trailblazer, decided it was time to hire a business coach, she expected to gain clarity on how to grow and improve her company, but she specifically chose to work with a coach who had a background as a licensed psychotherapist because her other goal was to break the patterns of self-sacrifice that were holding her back. This decision meant both the business and the business owner were about to be transformed.
This conversation recreates that transformation and how it impacted Traci's business model, leadership style, identity as a CEO, and the future of the company. If you have asked yourself “Why would I choose to hire a business coach who is also a licensed psychotherapist?” This Client Success Story episode is for you.

Are you an accidental entrepreneur who's been told to simply 'leverage your corporate skills' to make it as an entrepreneur --but have come to realize it's really not the same game? In this episode, I'll share how to overcome the hardships faced by unintentional entrepreneurship, recognize the skills you mastered in your previous career that will help you succeed in your own business, and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset along the way.
When faced with being laid off, unable to find a suitable position, or caught between income-producing and caregiving responsibilities, many women become what I call “accidental entrepreneurs” and must find the courage to embrace risk-taking and creativity to build a successful business in a world where male entrepreneurs still outnumber them three to one and genuine mentors can be hard to find.
What I have come to appreciate as a result of being self employed since 2010 and helping others achieve this goal since 2015, accidental entrepreneurs may need to learn a few things, but we do not come to the table empty handed. I believe that accidental entrepreneurs are far more likely to be intentional and a lot less impulsive with our business decisions. We have a strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and a deep sense of regard for the impact of our decisions and actions on others. This may slow us down a bit compared to entrepreneurs with a longer track record of risk taking, but it can definitely make the difference between success and failure.
The goals of this episode are to help you:

After a lifetime of conforming to the expectations of others and having her creative ideas dismissed because she was "just the assistant," Jancina Dyer refused to give up on her big vision and embarked on an entrepreneurial journey of self-discovery and success.
While most leaders in the beauty industry are half her age, Jan Dyer is just getting started as the founder, owner, and CEO of the Colorado Lash Company. She is a misfit entrepreneur, driven by passion and purpose, who left a successful career in ophthalmology to pursue her dream of owning a business in the beauty industry.
What I love most about Jan’s story is that she is a true visionary but did not believe she could execute her brilliant ideas. She bought course after course, took program after program, and even hired more than one coach, before deciding to work with me. Even though she had felt stuck for years, she never gave up on her big vision and in just 12 weeks, the progress she made was absolutely transformational.
In this Client Success Story episode, we will recreate Jan’s experiences of:

Do you remember going to the mall? Do you even remember malls? Well, I do and one of the things I remember best is this: the only way to enter one of the big department stores was to go through the bright and shiny cosmetics department, full of “beauty advisors” with brushes and sponges in hand, dying to make you over in the latest fashion shades. And who could resist?
"There's nothing like seeing another woman sitting on the high stool and getting that temporary boost of dopamine and confidence that comes with having her face completely made over by a beauty advisor."
We do love a good makeover, don’t we? But what if what you are sick of, fed up with, and fantasizing about making over is your business? Should you or shouldn’t you?
In this podcast episode, I guide you through the not-so-simple process of determining whether a business needs a makeover or not, exploring the impulses to blow things up vs. making a long-term investment in building a sustainable business. It can be hard to tell when it’s time for a business makeover because it can range from needing to work on communication and leadership skills, adjust expectations, or shift from a business that is merely financially successful to one that allows you to use your gifts and express your zone of genius.
Many entrepreneurs have difficulty determining if a makeover is necessary, so it is often helpful to hire a small business strategist or coach to help you figure out the next steps. After all, who doesn’t love bringing some fresh new energy into what they spend most of their waking hours doing?
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. Have you ever felt like your business needs a makeover?
2. What are the signs that it’s time to makeover your business?
3. Could your business be built on your zone of genius instead?
4. How my client Stacey made over her expert business

Entrepreneurship is all about taking risks and trusting your intuition, so I said yes and this episode is the result.

If you're looking to become a recognized expert or thought leader, this episode will show you how to maximize your credentials, expertise, and professional networks to get there. Unlock the secrets to establishing yourself as a thought leader by leveraging your connections.
"The term expert has really evolved in the last few years. It has gone from the definition of a person who has extensive knowledge and ability based on research, experience, education, occupation in a particular field to basically being somebody who knows a little bit more than the person they're trying to help."
Here’s what you will learn:
Resources mentioned in this episode:
Here are the key points I cover:
Becoming a genuine expert takes time and dedication. Legitimate experts have accumulated a deep knowledge of their field over years of experience and research. A professional is generally defined as someone who is a member of a profession, who works in a specific professional capacity and is subjected to codes of conduct and stringent ethical and moral obligations, as well as government oversight and enforcement by a regulatory body.
On the other hand, a thought leader is someone whose expertise is demonstrated by consistently answering the biggest questions in the minds of their target audience on their particular topic and who is asked to speak at keynotes.
In the unregulated industry of coaching, it is important for professionals to include their background, expertise, and credentials in their marketing and promotion to maintain credibility, as this will indicate to potential clients that they are knowledgeable and experienced in their field.

Erin Ollila is an experienced writer and copywriter with an MFA in creative writing and a background in mental health. She is passionate about understanding human nature and using her expertise to help people make informed decisions about their businesses, especially in the words they choose and use to convey who they are, what they do, and the clients they are best suited to work with. In other words, copywriting.
Erin knows that the key to engaging copy is to speak to the reader and create an inviting journey. She believes that everyone has the capacity to write their own copy, but needs to keep an eye out for the pitfalls of poor advice that can make them think they are successful when they really aren’t.

Chapter Summaries:
[00:00:01]
Writing is something I always thought I would do as a child. My first bio referenced myself as an emotional archeologist. I love studying what makes people tick. It's this love of storytelling that makes me good as a marketer.
[00:03:00]
My most abiding topic of interest is human nature. From a marketing perspective, it's just taught so incorrectly to online business owners. He says we don't all have one ideal client. A used car lot has multiple client personas.
[00:07:31]
There are many people who can write well, but that does not mean they have the skills to write marketing copy. No one's really taught to write to a reader in any different type of writing. It's very difficult to get someone to take you seriously as an expert when you are showing up with an insecure vibe.
[00:12:54]
Are you a fan of the notion of a customer journey? Because I have heard that you can literally create a journey for every email, for every social media caption, and obviously for every sales page. Think about how can I present information and then move someone through that information.
[00:14:45]
I am both an SEO copywriter, which is search engine optimization, and a conversion copywriter. What I believe is if we can use SEO to attract people to our website, we then have to give them instructions on what we want them to see. Marketing and copywriting are very easily overlooked.
[00:19:38]
A lot of people are just following the popular wisdom, if you will, online. What I think is so sad and super frustrating and I have absolutely been a victim of this, is just focusing on the amount, but not the quality. Do you think that most people can be successful DIY-ing?
[00:22:28]
I am very passionate that people can manage their own copywriting and marketing for a good period of time. When it comes to marketing, the answer is almost it depends on everything and everyone. Where is the best time investment? Where do we have more room to test?
[00:31:49]
Three years ago, my standard mantra was “I'm not tech-savvy.” Now I realize that everything I want to do requires technology and that I am getting better at it every day.
[00:34:18]
The difference between being a conversion copywriter and an SEO copywriter. Where I get true heart eyes in my own business is SEO. Not every business can make a quick sale. Seo is coming back into being extremely important in people's businesses.
[00:42:19]
So think of content. Instead of trying to spray everywhere, you're going to come up with one thing and allow that to kind of rain on all of your different touchpoints. And remember, we are talking about strategy, not tactics.
