We spend a lot of time preparing for how our bodies will change with age.
We think about strength, mobility, sleep, recovery, and longevity.

But almost nobody prepares for how sex, desire, intimacy, and pleasure may change too. In this conversation, I speak with Joan Price, one of the best-known voices on sex and aging, about what really changes over time — and why some parts of our sex lives can actually get better.Joan is 82, but this is not a conversation just for people in their seventies or eighties. Much of what she shares may be most useful earlier, in your thirties, forties, and fifties, while your body still feels familiar and before relationship habits become deeply entrenched.

We talk about what changes physically, what can improve, why communication becomes more important with age, how long-term couples can stay connected, and what happens when desire no longer arrives as automatically as it once did.

At 66, Joe Barr rode 2,448 miles along Route 66 in just over ten days and set a new world record.

Most people don't notice they're declining until it's too late.

Bob Becker offers a very different model.

He didn't discover running until he was 57. Twenty-five years later, at age 80, he returned to Badwater 135 — a brutal 135-mile ultramarathon across Death Valley in temperatures above 120°F — and became the oldest official finisher in the race's history.
