Have you ever thought that scaling your business is passive? Do you think of scaling as “six-figures” because you see that as the dream all over the place? Have you thought of scaling as just pivoting into education or selling digital products? Maybe you’ve thought of scaling as increasing your pricing or opening a studio to take on more creative shoots? Have you felt like you don’t have enough experience to scale or felt like it’s not possible for you?
This is just a sneak peek into all of the myths we’re talking about in depth and you can expect that I’m going to bust these myths and give you the why behind why they aren’t true. At the same time, we are going to chat through some of the misconceptions I have discovered from having so many conversations around scaling your photography business with photographers over the last year.
In this episode, we cover:
Why scaling is more than just passive income
The reason you don’t have to pivot into education to scale
Why increasing your prices could actually be a detriment to scaling your business
How opening a studio will just give you more work and increase your expenses
Imposter syndrome taking over and prohibiting your chances of scaling
Some details about my new program Scale It and a special offer for my podcast listeners

We are continuing with the scaling series, and talking specifically about how I got to the point in my business where I have a work/life balance and could enjoy 2 weeks completely off while in Japan in May while barely working the rest of the month and still bringing in 5 figures.
My hope is that this will leave you feeling inspired with some tangible takeaways on how you can set your business up in a way that actually supports your work/life balance rather than you having to be a slave to your business in order to be “profitable.”
So, let’s dive into today’s episode where I’m holding nothing back, including the hard parts of talking about money and scaling your business.

In this second episode of the scaling series, we are talking through the 5 modern ways to scale your photography business. I began scaling back in 2021 and realized very quickly how impactful scaling could be. Just to scratch the surface, I am now booking a max of 15 weddings per year instead of 30 and I’m still hitting $25k months consistently while working 30 hours a week rather than 65.
I truly believe these 5 ways to scale are your ticket to a better work-life balance, more freedom, and more profit while still working less and still enjoying your life and your business.
So, without further ado, let’s get into these 5 ways to scale your photography business.

During this episode, I’m sharing the 7 things I did to plan for my maternity leave. Regardless of where you are in your journey, I truly hope it helps you to feel more confident in your decision of how to operate during your leave.

Have you heard about my programs and wondered what your life could look like if you were to join? Well, I’m doing something I’ve never done before! I’m bringing on one of my students, Tara to share her experience while she was in my mentorship program, Book It.
Her story is guaranteed to inspire the heck out of you! Not only did she go full-time and make $62k in her first 6 months, but she was also able to pay off over $10k in debt. Tara also raised her prices, created systems that up-leveled her client experience, and became more confident in the industry.
During our conversation, Tara opens up about her journey with going full-time and taking the leap which gave her the opportunity to make that $62k in her first 6 months of business. She says that networking and connecting with other vendors has been a huge part of what she considers to have made her successful, along with my program Book It.
I hope this episode gives you inspiration and encouragement after hearing where she was and where she is now.

Do you communicate with your couples once the wedding is over? In the past, I have talked about the pre-booking client experience and even the client experience while you’re actively serving your couple. However, I’ve never actually talked about how to continue to give a client experience after the event is over.
In this snapshots episode, I’m sharing my strategies for maintaining a client relationship after the wedding, including delivering previews, engaging on social media, and sending personalized notes and gifts. Your post-client communication doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You can keep it simple and effective without being overly extravagant.
