Andy's Girls: A Real Housewives Podcast

After anxiously checking on her beloved fish son PK - perhaps he caught internal bleeding from Jen's imagination - Sarah calls 411 to glean as much Shahking information as she can from a historic and Shahmazing episode of SLC. And who answers her Bravo bat call but Sarah's fave Bravoholic BFF, a bubble bath for the soul, a multimillion dollar Vail promotional consideration kind of pal, and someone who would never need to steal an $800 green clutch from Meredith's store because his takes make you green with envy (s/o RHONJ!), Dylan Hafer (content manager, pop culture at Betches Media, host of the pods Pop Alarm and Mention It All, and creator of @BravoByBetches). They discuss the tension between Meredith's engagement on all things Jen Shah vs rumors about Mary's church, what Jen's shocking participation in the after show says about her strategy off camera, and the ways that Salt Lake is playing against type (aka Erika Jayne). Potomac also happened, and that's nice too - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 265!

Feelin Jovani and also Pat Kiernan, Sarah goes to read the daily papers, and realizes that there are only so many times she can start a trial subscription for Sutton Stracke Presents the LA Times. Inspired by some fantastic long form pieces on Erika Jayne written by today's guests (Andy agrees!), Sarah Zooms up noted Housewives historians Kevin Fallon (senior entertainment reporter, The Daily Beast) and Louis Peitzman (Vulture, among others) for a wide ranging and very deep dive convo of all things Erika Jayne. They discuss what Andy's surprising reaction to Erika Jayne critique says about managing Erika and the audience on-and-off camera, the differences between how Erika and Candiace's outbursts are critiqued by their respective casts, and the troubling pattern of rewarding bad behavior with regard to Housewives and alleged crime. This panel deserves a Pulitzer, so please let Suzanne in HR know to add it to the list - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 264!

Realizing her DVR likely has internal bleeding after the sonic boom level screeching Sarah uttered during the last 10 min of SLC, she calls up her spiritual Homeland Security advisor (more for the heart than federal gov), Potomac super stan, and OG of the AG, Damian Bellino (writer, producer, co-host of the podcast You Might Know Her From). They discuss the differences between a subject vs. object Housewife, the potentially difficult translation when a Bravoholic becomes a Bravoleb, and what Andy got right about Candiace's inability to account for her problematic behavior. Gizelle's relationship history may be a puzzle, but this episode is putting all the pieces (and Jamal) together - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 263!

Sarah hits the comedy circuit in NYC, excited to discover more laughable reasons Bravo may keep Ramona. In between sets by famed comedians Sonja Morgan and Joe Gorga, she runs into a true stand up icon: comedian and co-host of the pod Ruined, Alison Leiby. They discuss the presumption of innocence Erika is demanding while in turn refusing to extend to Tom's victims, opposing views on the impact of Kyle Richards' production power, and 3-6 seconds on Salt Lake. Sarah is unwilling to accept that BH is over, so consider this P5 of a ten part addendum - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 262!

Sarah hears about the newest Housewives franchise, and attempts to sign up for a nonexistent Bravo Amazing Race, in order to potentially fly over filming in Dubai. Undeterred after both corporate and Visa debit tell her this is non negosh, she jets to her other happy place instead - a discussion of MVP Housewives with the hosts of the pod "Come Thru Queen," Dan Calabrese and Brendan Davis. They explore the market value of Kyle Richards, star of screen and screen (ya know, movies and tv), why Dan and Brendan's picks for the top 10 most valuable Housewives include erasure of some historic OGs, and whether or not Jennie and Duy's disconcerting conversations about expanding their family may have been influenced by an increased need for storyline behind the scenes. Archie Beador is back home, and so is this fab Bravoholic throuple - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 261!

Distraught over news of Dorit's upsetting break-in, Sarah blocks Edwin's phone number (...kidding) and hides in her shoes (it's a joke, Teddi. The vitamins in carrots add humor). Feeling the need to find comfort on the People's People's Couch, Sarah Zooms up Youtuber - and former TomTom employee! - Adam Coy Newell. They explore the nuanced navigation writing about Housewives, the connection between performative wealth and Kim Kardashian and Dorit's deeply troubling robberies, and an exclusive clip from the AG Live special ep, featuring a chat with Dallas Housewife Dr. Tiffany Moon. Beverly Hills may be 4 parts, but Sarah's hoping for a bonus 50 more - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 260!

Absolutely feeling Zen Wen after the sold-out Andy's Girls Live (ep coming next week!), Sarah wraps Bravoholic Appreciation Week the best way she knows how - with two of her absolute fave Bravo content creators, Abby and Vanessa from the pod and IG account Real Moms of Bravo. They discuss what Rinna's reaction to Amelia and Scott's breakup says about her capacity for non-performative personal storylines, the ways Erika's reaction to Tom's crimes is more about her 'hope' than 'belief,' and whether Candiace's delayed-empathy about Mia's childhood is really a next-gen echo of her mom. Grab your fave Bravoholic and listen to this ep twice in their honor - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 259!

With Andy's Girls Live nearly here (someone cue "One More Day" from Les Misérables aka RHONY) along with the start of Bravoholic Appreciation Week, and having just rewatched the excellent start to the RHOBH reunion, Sarah works on her breathing exercises ("less Girardi, less Jayne"), and calls up her fave breath of fresh air, actor and writer for theGrio, Jared Alexander. They unpack the sacrificial lamb-style friendship contract that everyone in the cast seems to want Garcelle and Sutton to sign, Dorit's fascinating performance as a woman scorned (by...reality tv rules of engagement?), and Erika's interest in closing the chapter to a book at its start. Andy's Girls Live is almost sold out, kind of like Rinna the last couple years - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 258!

Sarah watches the new Potomac and immediately Venmos her therapist a bonus since the only topics she plans to discuss concern Candiace, Mia, and their moms. After being told said therapist doesn't watch Bravo and prefers something called 'magazines,' Sarah immediately blocks her, buys shoes, and Zooms up Bravoholic bliss: a Potomac-heavy AG kiki with Team Monique whisperer, Danielle Prescod (author, podcast host, and DEI consultant). They explore the many layers  navigating Candiace's sensitivity training ('don't have none, won't be none'), Wendy's work ascending the Housewives Inc corporate ladder one single-wicked candle at a time, and what the women of Salt Lake City understand about independent streams of income for independent women. Eating your greens is almost as important as spending them, and Andy's Girls Live is the perfect supplement- it's Andy's Girls, Episode 257!

Sarah celebrates Chinese New Year (the year of the ox and also cackle), by watching the RHOBH finale and per Crystal's counsel, waiting to take out the trash (Tom). Instead, she Zooms up one of her fave Bravoholic institutions, and Lisa Rinna's spiritual nemesis, Ryan Bailey (host, So Bad It's Good with Ryan Bailey). They continue this week's pod swap - make sure to listen to P1 on his show! - by discussing the ways that the RHOBH audience resembles virtual reality, if Rinna can ever come back from her role as Erika's primary consigliere, and what Sutton has taught the other women about creating and maintaining boundaries, no matter what. Erika may threaten lawsuits to keep people silent, but this convo will keep you talking - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 256!
