Melissa and Chris Bruntlett are Canadian authors and urban mobility advocates who strive to communicate the benefits of sustainable transport and inspire happier, healthier, more human-scale cities. Their first book, Building the Cycling City: The Dutch Blueprint for Urban Vitality, explored the urban and transport planning decisions that established the Netherlands as a bicycle paradise, and how North American communities are translating these ideas to build their own cycling cities.
In 2019, Melissa and Chris, along with their children Coralie and Etienne, relocated from Vancouver, Canada, to Delft, the Netherlands. Melissa now works with Mobycon—a bicontinental mobility consultancy—supporting the promotion of Dutch transport knowledge, policy, and design principles in countries across Europe and North America. As communications manager for the Dutch Cycling Embassy, Chris uses his knowledge and passion to share practical lessons for global cities wishing to learn from the Netherlands’ extraordinary success. Together they continue to be inspired by their new home, watching their children (and countless others) enjoy a quality of life only possible in an environment that puts people first.

After experiencing the devastating loss of his father and best friend, Dan Fischer turned to surfing to heal through the transformative power of the ocean.
After one faithful salt water session on January 4, 2022, he decided to throw out an open invitation on Tiktok to others who may be struggling with loss. He invited them to share the stories and names of loved ones who they'd lost and promised to etch them onto his board, as a way to forever memorialize them in the place they so deeply loved.
That inaugural board has now become a beacon of hope, which has turned a simple idea into a global movement.

After reading his game-changing book "The Myth of Normal," it was such an honor to have Co-Writer Daniel Maté on the show to do a deep dive on trauma, sickness and health and the mind/body connection.
Daniel and I chat about how in Western countries that pride themselves on their healthcare systems, chronic illness and general ill health are on the rise. Nearly 70 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug; more than half take two. In Canada, every fifth person has high blood pressure. In Europe, hypertension is diagnosed in more than 30 percent of the population. And everywhere, adolescent mental illness is on the rise. So what is really “normal” when it comes to health?
This is one of my favorite conversations that I've ever had on the show. It may just change how you look at western medicine.
Daniel Maté is a composer, lyricist, and playwright for musical theatre based in BC and New York.
He received the prestigious Edward Kleban Prize for Most Promising Lyricist in American Musical Theatre, a Jonathan Larson Foundation Grant, and the ASCAP Foundation’s Cole Porter Award for Excellence in Music and Lyrics. He has presented his work at the historic Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and New York’s Lincoln Center, and was an invited participant in the inaugural Johnny Mercer Writers Colony.
Outside of music and theatre, Daniel runs the world’s only “mental chiropractic” service, Take A Walk With Daniel and he Co-Authored the brand new Internationally Bestselling book “The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic Culture” with his father, Dr. Gabor Mate.

In this uplifting story, three laughing monks go from village to village in China, stand in the market place and simply laugh, causing all the villagers to gather around and become infected with the joy of laughter.
Here the twist at the end when one of the monks dies...yet the laughter continues. :)

After going through a painful breakup over the weekend, I decided to scrap today's planned solo episode content and share with you all the emotions I am going through over the ending of our almost 2-year relationship.
Recording this, stretching my comfort zone again and allowing myself to be vulnerable, during a very emotional time, was very cathartic for me. I hope perhaps it can provide a little comfort to anyone else out there who is going through a breakup. You are not alone.
And it's election day, so I would be remiss if I didn't throw out a call to action to vote. This one is too important to skip guys!

One day a boy asked his father, “What is the value of this life?” Instead of answering, the father told his son, “Take this stone and go offer it at a market, however do not accept any offer and bring the rock back to me. If anybody asks the price, raise two fingers and don’t say anything."
The boy then went to the market and a woman asks, "How much is this stone? I want to put it in my garden.” The boy didn’t say anything and raised two fingers, so the woman said… “$2? I’ll take it.” And the boy went home and told his father. His father says "Son, the next place I want you to go is to the museum and if anyone asks the price, don't say a word and raise up two fingers." So the son takes the stone to the museum and after about twenty minutes a middle-aged man in a suit approaches the boy and says "Sir, how much is the Stone?" The boy doesn't say a word and raises two fingers.
Listen to this short 5-minute inspiring episode to find out what happens. It just might make you question how you are valuing your own life.

This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Seibo Shen, creator of The I Am Self Mastery Academy, and he did not disappoint! This episode is just full of takeaways, as we learned from Seibo about the “I Am Equation,” which consists of Intuition, Actualization, and Manifestation, and "takes the pressure off of yourself for having to figure everything out. You simply follow your HIGHEST JOY and the rest of life will unfold even more beautifully than you could have envisioned."
We also talked about the law of attraction, having professional AND personal success, the 3 categories of consciousness, the power of meditation, breath work, the double slit experiment and so much more!
Seibo Shen, is an entrepreneur, mindset and business coach who has had 6 successful exits. He has spoken at SXSW, ArcView, New West Summit, and been interviewed by publications such as Business Insider and Forbes
Seibo has put together a framework that combines practical, utilitarian skills with a metaphysical ideology to help us lead a life of passion and purpose without sacrificing abundance. Now, he wants to share this framework with as many people who want to begin prioritizing fulfillment and have self mastery over their own lives.
