She evaluates this through several key indicators: the team's ability to tackle tough topics, including when someone isn't carrying their weight; their willingness to embrace and resolve conflicts; the product's flexibility in responding to market and customer feedback; and most importantly, whether team members proactively suggest solutions themselves. Karen emphasizes that her ultimate goal is to help the team reach a state where they no longer need her guidance, as this represents true maturity and self-organization.
