On a day when the Senate is hoping to vote later today on ending the government shutdown, today is the day that the FAA has ordered flights to be cut due to staffing shortages. Yesterday, there were 200 canceled flights across the nation – today that number is expected to be above one thousand, with thousands more delayed. Correspondent Ed Donahue reports that air traffic controllers and TSA agents received a zero paycheck for the second time since the government shutdown began, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, speaking on Fox News, says the flight cutback is all about air safety.
