Birth Healing In Action

Listen Later

Have you had success in helping a client have a VBAC after a cesarean birth?

In today’s episode Chaitanya Morly-Southall, a bodyworker in Australia and student of the Institute for Birth Healing shares how she helped a client have a successful VBAC by using the skills she learned in her coursework with the Institute for Birth Healing.

The client was 30 weeks pregnant with her 2nd child at initial evaluation. She had horrible pain in her back and pubic bone area. Her 1st birth was traumatic and ended in a C-section. She presented with anger and grief over not having been able to birth the baby vaginally. During the 1st birth she felt very unsupported.

Chaitanya went through the external protocol taught in the Holistic Treatment of the Postpartum Body course as well as the advanced techniques she learned at the Institute for Birth Healing to support this client and address both her physical and emotional needs. In today’s podcast, Chaitanya discusses what she found in her assessments, how she treated this client, and what the client outcomes were after working together.

A Quick Note From Lynn:

This client felt better even without an internal pelvic floor muscle assessment. It is important that even if you never plan on performing an internal muscle assessment that you learn the techniques to treat externally. It is important to bring the client’s awareness down to where the bodywork is taking place to build interoception. The body needs to finish what it started in many ways. The tissues guide you through the dance of what is stuck in there. Lastly, the pelvis is the foundation of the body and motion.

A Birth Healing Intensive program will be coming in 2024 to help you learn more about how to work with non-physical symptoms. In the meantime, check out the following course on the Holistic Treatment of the Postpartum Body.
