Mental health awareness doesn’t end in May—it’s a conversation that needs to continue year-round. In this episode of the Queens of Social Work podcast, we focus on the critical topic of mental health for Black men and the unique challenges they face in accessing care and seeking support.

Our guest, Arron Muller, also known as King A, is a licensed therapist and the Chief Operating Officer at Life Matters Psychological Services, LLC, where he works alongside his wife, Dr. Trudy-Ann Gayle. Arron is also a school social worker, an adjunct professor at Adelphi University School of Social Work, and the CEO of Modify Wellness Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to providing education and resources about mental health in Black communities.

Throughout the episode, Arron shares his passion for creating spaces where Black men can thrive emotionally and mentally. He discusses:

  • The importance of addressing mental health stigma among Black men
  • His creation of SearchBlackMaleTherapists.com, a directory to connect Black men with Black male therapists
  • The role of wellness in empowering men to embrace their mental health

Arron’s work has been featured in Black Enterprise, Huffington Post, and as the resident therapist on Black Ink Crew, showcasing his dedication to uplifting Black men and breaking down barriers to mental health care.
