Here I go opening up another can of worms - but I prefer to call it... a gift box!
Really, I get it - It is an uncomfortable topic and conversation but has a lot of significance in solving some of the big issues in individuals and relationships. This won’t apply to everyone, but it applies to many.
Some of this is hard or upsetting to hear and our first instinct can be to ignore or push it away because it can be painful to identify with truths we would prefer didn’t exist. Many can feel angry about it, or even feel angry at me because it may seem I’m making someone “guilty.” I assure you that’s not the case but I encourage you, like I would with any triggering thing, to stop if you feel yourself shutting down and try coming back to it later. Maybe after journaling about it or sleeping on it.
At the end of the day, the only way to change for the better is to look at it head on and get real about how this is affecting you. For some that decision may happen this week, for some it may be 6 months or 6 years from now. Your level of open-mindedness will affect that timeline greatly.
Since this issue is so huge, I’m going to make it a bit more digestible and touch on 3 main things. This episode will by no means by exhaustive, but I believe it will be informative and will help plenty of people begin to solve this sticky and incredibly pervasive and prevalent problem.
**UPDATE: big lessons here so I’m breaking it up into two parts. This one is very important to the foundation of understanding the problem so you can solve it.
As more people share this information and are willing to speak up about it, more will realize you are so far from being the ‘only one.’ Many share big pieces of the present problems you want to solve, yet have not been able to put their finger on the source of the problem. I believe this will help. Please share!

A lot of women will avoid this episode. I’m sure it will do really low download numbers but I am still committed to telling the truth. Not what you want to hear but what you need to hear.
Let’s start here: Please, please don’t let your perpetually single friends or this Queen Mentality keep you from the awareness you need to get the partner you really want. I need you to listen in to this episode.
I was every single thing I talk about in this episode, so trust when I say this is not about judgment or blame. We behave and think in these ways because we are hurting and searching for a way out. We believe these ways will protect us, when really it only harms us further. Hopefully this episode encourages you to do something about it. When I did, it changed everything for me!
“Toxic women in relationships” - here’s what I’m getting into:
-defensiveness
-non-reciprocal/“selfish”
-hot and cold/non-committal

Women have been getting away with a lot and I think we need to talk about it. As a byproduct of the second wave of feminism, it has been difficult for women to be self-reflective and accountable for their role in the things that go wrong in their lives, like in relationships! It starts with us ladies - let’s help others to be better by being better ourselves. And remember, if a relationship with a great person is what you want, you need to be great yourself!
First I define toxic. Then…
-how your environment affects you
-doing a “friend audit”
-these specific traits: negative talk, overworking in masculine energy, hype women, inconsistent, and incongruent

This is a model man! Jamel is a light for all of us, but he is especially important for men and fathers to hear from. Secondarily, I think he has an extraordinary mindset and qualities for women to hear who would like to partner with a healthy and secure man, or who already are with someone and would like to understand your partner better.
I’m so grateful to Jamel for allowing us to hear his story and I hope it serves listeners well.
Here are just some of the things he talks about:
-being highly stressed (he rates it a 50 out of 10) and still making the move to begin therapy
-the importance of identifying the root of the problem
-deepening his relationship with his children
-realizing he was running on autopilot with his traumas
-unconsciously repeating negative cycles from the past
-the difficulty and importance of bringing things we feel shame about to the light
-what men need to know about therapy and emotional expression
-separating “who I am” vs. “what I do”
-how he maintains peace
and those are just SOME of the pieces! This episode is packed.

Marlene completed REATTACH, a group of 10 women (max) who want to shift from patterns of anxiety or avoidance to security. Marlene has been doing a lot of self-work and is seeing the fruits of all her labor - we love it :)
In this episode, she talks about:
-coming into REATTACH after hitting some significant and tough moments in her life
-connecting with others with different backgrounds, ages, and experiences but the same kinds of fears and hopes in relationships
-how setting boundaries actually helps relationships
-the joys (seriously!) of taking accountability

Brianna and I worked together 1-on-1 and the journey was amazing. She made so many big changes & mind shifts in our time together, I'm grateful she is willing to share with you.
One of my favorite things about this episode is the space in between the questions and her answers. I love her thoughtfulness and her presence here. I hope you'll get something out of being able to sit in the silence with us.
Some things she talks about are -
*financial infidelity in her marriage
*blaming others for things going wrong
*taking things way too personally
*having a hard time letting go of resentment
*being unaware of how harmful her own thought patterns were
*creating healthy boundaries with family members
*the importance of investing in herself and loving on herself!
It's a really beautiful episode & I hope you enjoy.
If you are getting something good out of Boundaries & Grace, I invite you to send a donation of whatever size is on your heart! It can be $1 or $2 or maybe it's $5. I appreciate your support in this work & thank you for sowing into it. $taychand (CashApp)

A lot has changed! Over this season my intention is to share more about who I am, how I got here, and why all of this work is important. I want to give a fuller view in these episodes rather than small bites on Instagram.
Some things I'm talking about:
-life events that served as a catalyst for this new phase in my life & work
-how anger and resentment affected how I showed up in my work
-the release of judgment and blame towards family members
-reconciling broken pieces of my heart
-realizing wholeness
Listen in and see :) If you're enjoying the podcast I would really appreciate if you rated and commented - The level up is to subscribe so you don't miss any!

Matilda! She needs an exclamation point after her name every time, in my opinion. Matilda Adu is spreading love and confidence to women through dance, mental health, and cannabis! See her website here matildaadu.com
Matilda and I have seen each other make some pretty *interesting* relationship decisions through grad school and when we lived together for a year here in Atlanta. It's a really beautiful thing for us to be able to have this conversation together about where we are now and how our decisions and perspectives have made such huge shifts.
She's going to talk about #RelationshipGoals and why people are so obsessed with them and why that's so problematic. She talks about the importance of being present in your relationship, the role of gratitude while experiencing your partner, and your responsibility to take care of yourself while being intimately connected to who you're with.
