Today my guest is Brian Proctor, who is the son of Bob Proctor, my mentor. I got introduced to Bob Proctor in 1996. He was like an angel from heaven who totally changed my life. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think about him; he meant that much to me. I’m constantly referencing his teachings.
His son, Brian, has a new book out called My Father Knew the Secret, which I highly recommend. Reading this book was an emotional experience for me, because it has so many stories that I knew from his dad. It was like going back in time.
In this episode, we discuss:
How Brian started writing his book while his father was still alive—and how it answers the frequently asked question, “What’s it like having Bob Proctor as your father?”
Why you must have persistence in whatever you’re chasing
How Bob was 72 years old when “The Secret” came out; he’d been working in the personal development industry for 40 years when he was finally propelled in front of that large audience
How Bob developed a wonderful reputation—he felt that building relationships, keeping them good, and not burning your bridges was really important (and he always knew somebody somewhere)
Brian’s experience working in the company for 30 years, being involved in the marketing and the affiliate world
How Brian and his father never had a struggle, even through the teenage years—because his father was always supportive, and always making sure his son was working towards something
How Bob asked his son every day, “What did you do today, Brian? What did you do today that got you one step closer to your goal?”
Bob Proctor made a mark on the lives of millions of people. After he passed away, a few hundred thousand people from all over the world watched the online memorial for him. They posted comments, sharing what Bob meant to them and how he changed their life through his teachings. He was truly on a mission to make a difference.
