The four-ticket seminar sales mindset I’m about to share wasn’t something I planned to learn — it was something I had to earn. In this episode, I open up about one of the hardest experiences early in my business: hosting a seminar for just four attendees. At the time, it felt like failure. But that low turnout was the gateway to one of the most transformative mindset shifts of my entire career.

At first, I wanted to refund the tickets and walk away. But I stayed. And over the next three days, I was forced to confront my relationship with rejection, self-worth, and what it truly means to lead from the front. I realized many of those initial sales had come from friends and family who simply wanted to help. When the training wheels came off, I had to sell based on real value. I also learned the danger of assuming enthusiasm equals commitment, and how important it is to question your sales process before the room is empty.

If you’re going to live your purpose at the highest level, you must reprogram your subconscious mind. Most people don’t realize that the voice pulling them back isn’t their true self—it’s the world. That voice is your parents, your past, your fear, your programming. And none of it is you.

The subconscious mind is powerful, but it’s not the ruler. It’s the servant. And your job is to make it obedient to the life you’re intentionally creating.

I use two main tools to reprogram the subconscious mind: constant spaced repetition and sudden emotional impact. When those two are combined with real faith—faith that it’s already done—change happens fast. But you can’t waver. You have to command that voice to stop and align with your purpose.

Faith is like a tone of voice the subconscious understands. It doesn’t respond to weakness. It responds to commands. Just like a child knows when you don’t mean what you say, your subconscious knows. When I speak with real conviction, it obeys. That’s how I’ve created every meaningful result in my life.

Take your mind back. Speak to your subconscious with authority. Use repetition, attach emotion, and back it with unshakeable belief. That’s the formula. That’s the truth. That’s how you reprogram your subconscious mind and walk in your God-given purpose.

I had a remarkable conversation recently with a private client that completely blew me away. He taught me something profound about complacency in business success – how it operates exactly like an alcoholic’s greatest enemy. When an alcoholic doesn’t practice their 12 steps daily, they get complacent about recovery, and that’s when they slide backward. For them, complacency could literally cause death.

Isn’t that true for every one of us? When we get complacent about complacency in business success and stop practicing the disciplines and skill sets we’re developing, we might not die – but we could absolutely lose our business, relationships, or everything we’ve built. I witnessed this with my grandmother’s friend – a top real estate agent who was sober for 20 years until one devastating day. After learning his daughter died, he had one beer. In just one week, he was a falling-down drunk again. That’s how complacency in business success works – the old monster is always in the shadows, waiting.

The most dangerous place for complacency in business success is with your sales calls. If those calls aren’t happening and you’re not getting better, you’re not building a business – you’re going out of business! The most important wins are the financial ones because they give you options for everything else. When you master the skill set of bringing in money at the number you need whenever you need it, you experience extraordinary calm and peace. Don’t get complacent!

In this episode of The Successful Mind Podcast, I dive into what I believe has to happen at the core of every entrepreneur: a serious reframe about your divine business mindset. Most of us were raised to work for money — to get a job that brings us money. And when we start businesses, we often carry this mindset with us.

Listen, when you work for money, when you work a job, you generally struggle in life. That’s what most people do. But the divine business mindset is completely different. You’re not going out there to get. You’re going out to give something beautiful and abundant to the world.

It’s a significant difference in thought. When I go out and speak somewhere, when I do a sales call, I’m looking for people that want to receive what I have. I assume I’m a blessing in people’s lives. That’s the divine business mindset — it’s not struggle, it’s giving.

You have to address the insecurities in yourself. The insecurities have you behaving as if you’re not wanted, like you’re bothering people. But when you stand in your divine spark, in your divine business mindset, you’re promoted by God. You’re promoted by yourself. You don’t need somebody else’s authority.

You literally can drop every story from your past today and rewrite it the way you wanted it to have been. Like Bob Dylan, you can step into a completely different version of yourself simply because you decide to.

People are waiting for you to come into their life to make a change. What an unbelievable gift you have! And if you step into that divine business mindset, you’ll have an unbelievable life.

Remember what Aaron Rodgers said about that critical playoff moment: “We never got the ball back after that.” There will be a time in your life where you don’t get the ball back. You’ve got it now — run with it. Not out of desperation, but out of good cheer.
