Afterwards, they welcome on on Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network to get his insight on the Seahawks offensive coordinator search, the NFL playoffs, what traits he'd love to see the Seahawks take from the current playoff teams and plenty more.
Brock and Salk discuss the idea of hiring Grant Udinski as the Seahawks next offensive coordinator and if they truly need to hire someone with previous OC experience or not. Later, they debate how many stars Seattle sports truly currently has. Right now, they only could definitively name two. In Blue 88, Brock dives in on what advantage the Seahawks currently have over the rest of the middle-of-the-pack teams in the NFL, why the Steelers have to move on from Russell Wilson and Johntay Cook getting dismissed from the UW football team after just a few weeks.
Salk introduces everyone to two new people tied to Seattle sports: Grant Udinski, the assistant offensive coordinator with the Vikings who is 28 years old and thew newest potential candidate for the Seahawks OC job. Then, they re-air their offensive corrdinator whiparound in which they talk to Mike Klis in Denver, Laurence Holmes in Chicago and John Janssen in Detroit to get their opinions on Klint Kubiak, and Thomas Brown John Janssen, who have all so far interviewed for the Seahawks OC job so far.
We react to the information we got on each of the Seahawks OC candidates from our guests in the previous hour. It only strengthened Salk's love for Hank Fraley. As much as the run game is having a resurgence this year in the NFL, finding your franchise QB is still of paramount importance for coaches and GM's. How should the Seahawks go about finding their QB of the future? Then, we answer questions on Josh McDaniels as a Seahawks OC candidate, which curry is best, and the hardest part about being a radio host in Answer the Question Jerk.
Brock and Salk react to the Mariners signing Donovan Solano and what he will bring to the table for the team. Then, with the Seahawks reportedly having interviewed three different offensive coordinator candidates so far (Klint Kubiak, Thomas Brown and Hank Fraley), they go around the country and talk with three media members about each candidate. It features Mike Klis in Denver, Laurence Holmes in Chicago and John Janssen in Detroit.
Brock and Salk share what they took away from the Rams wild card win over the Vikings, particularly with their drafts over the last couple of years. They then outline what they believe the three most important traits are for the Seahawks hiring their next offensive coordinator. In Blue 88, brock takes a look at a potential Seahawks reunion with brian Schottenheimer at OC, making a case for Deion Sanders to be the next head coach of the Cowboys, along with the UW recruiting class.
