They encourage SLPs to be informed and empowered to make their own choices and highlight the importance of sharing stories to reduce stigma. They call for ASHA to address issues such as pay and workload and the need for action on Medicare reimbursement cuts and lack of advocacy. The participants desire ASHA to listen and show support. The participants compared the relationship to that of authoritative parents and adult children, expressing the need for repair and mutual respect.
