This podcast discusses two adult patient cases with mixed oil ILE refractory Intestinal Failure Associated Liver Disease (IFALD). IFALD which has been associated with soy-based ILE, has seen some improvement with the use of mixed oil ILEs. The 2 patients discussed in this podcast did not improve with mixed oil ILE but saw significant improvement of IFALD with the use of fish oil ILE. The use of fish oil ILE in adult PN patients, is off label, with very few cases reported in the literature.
