In this age of technology, you’d think that we humans would be much better at communication. Dare I say, we’ve gotten worse! Communication prior to smartphones would require actually SPEAKING to another person and problem solving with them in the room or over the phone but these conversations were more vulnerable because you had nowhere to hide.

Today, we have keyboards to hide behind and I’m sure you’ve seen this on social media where people can be downright mean and say things they probably wouldn’t say to someone’s face. But the screen and keyboard offer some protection so they feel empowered. The same is true for men who hide behind keyboards and prefer texting versus speaking on the phone. Written words can be crafted to make someone feel loved and respected but texting does not make for a strong relationship.
