Childhood trauma often intertwines with various mental health diagnoses. In today’s video, we’ll explore the relationship between healing trauma and addressing mental health diagnoses and symptoms.
Some of the things I’ll go over are how trauma symptoms can mimic or overlap with other mental health conditions; the importance of addressing childhood wounds alongside conventional treatments; understanding rejection sensitivity in the context of trauma; why medication alone doesn’t fully resolve ongoing struggles; and strategies for deeper healing.
Whether you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, depression, anxiety, or other diagnoses, I hope this video offers insights into the complex interplay between trauma and mental health. Learn how to advocate for yourself as you honor your whole self. ❤️

Childhood trauma shapes the way we think in a lot of different ways. For years, I found myself stuck in thought patterns that weren't serving me well. It can be so hard to change these patterns, especially if you’ve been carrying them for a long time. And I know many of you can relate.
If you've ever felt like your mind is working against you, or you're constantly bracing for the worst, this episode might resonate with you. In this episode, I'll guide you through a simple practice that's been instrumental in my healing process. It's a small step that can lead to big changes in how you see yourself and the world around you.
I hope you’ll find this practice as helpful as I have. I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Can you relate? Share some of your experiences.

Staying the course of a trauma healing journey is often the most challenging aspect to navigate.
This is especially true when you find that you’re thinking about things you haven’t thought about in a long time, or maybe didn’t remember at all and when you’re feeling things you’ve (mostly) successfully kept packed away.
In this episode, I share how and why we can find ourselves here and what to do when it happens so you can move through it and not give up on yourself and your healing.
So, whether you're just starting your healing journey or you're well on your way, stick around. What I'm about to share might just change the way you view your progress and give you the encouragement you need to keep going.
I’d love to hear from you. Share your thoughts, reactions, or experiences below.

There are so many things you’ve likely wondered about. Things about your experience, your struggle, how or why this or that happens, and maybe even about your therapist.
Curiosity isn't just for knowledge—it can be a powerful tool for emotional recovery and building deeper connections.
But, asking questions to help uncover all those things requires vulnerability. And, vulnerability isn’t typically something we’re eager to experience.
In this episode, I explore the power of curiosity and how asking what’s been on your mind can deepen connections, and aid in trauma healing. We’ll dive into the impact of shame, the importance of openness, and why embracing your curiosity can lead to breakthroughs for your healing journey.
Share your thoughts in the comments and let’s start a conversation on how vulnerability in asking or sharing has played a role in your own healing.

In this episode I share a personal story of the heartbreak and betrayal I experienced as a child coming back as a result of people around me rationalizing, minimizing, and excusing abusive behavior.
I talk about the emotional trauma and the painful moments that forced me to confront the lies I was told and, even worse, the lies I told myself. You’ll hear firsthand how the subtlety of manipulation can leave deep scars.
If you're searching for the courage to stand up for yourself or needing a reminder that you’re not alone, this video is for you. Together, we can start the conversation that so desperately needs to happen for the culture of excusing perpetrator behavior to end.
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. #togetherweheal

Navigating relationships can sometimes feel like walking through a minefield, especially when you’re dealing with unhealthy dynamics. How do you protect your peace and healthy sense of self when others are quick to deflect blame? What does it really mean to set healthy boundaries?
In this episode, I talk about how to identify when you're unfairly carrying the weight of others' actions, and the importance of setting firm boundaries without feeling guilty. We'll explore the difference between taking responsibility for your own actions and not absorbing the negativity or blame from others.
Remember, you have the right to prioritize your peace. It's time to reclaim your power and ensure that you're not sacrificing your mental health for the sake of maintaining toxic relationships. Take a stand, set those boundaries, and let go of the guilt.

Millions of people struggle with anxiety (among other symptoms), often without understanding its true origins or how to help resolve it. There are a lot of factors and circumstances that influence how and to what extent someone might struggle.
In this episode, I delve into the intricate connection between childhood trauma and adult anxiety/struggle. I talk about how our past experiences shape our present fears. I also share insights on recognizing trauma-related anxiety, understanding its various manifestations, and beginning the journey toward healing.
Remember, understanding the source of your anxiety is the first step towards reclaiming your peace of mind. No matter how deeply rooted your fears may be, healing is possible. Your anxiety doesn't define you – it's simply a part of your journey, and with the right tools and understanding, you can learn to navigate… and even release it.

Have you noticed feeling a little more anxious, irritable, or drained? Maybe you can’t really identify a specific reason? You're not alone. The things going on around us has a profound impact on our emotional well-being, often in ways we don't readily recognize.
In this episode, I talk about how seemingly distant or irrelevant events that can create ripples that touch our lives; affecting our emotions, relationships, and even our ability to heal from trauma. I'll share insights from my background in social work and personal experiences to show how social systems directly impact our daily lives and mental health.
Your healing journey is uniquely yours, but it doesn't happen in isolation.
By understanding the bigger picture, you can be proactive in taking care of yourself and make informed choices about your well-being, the well-being of those you love, and even have a broader impact on your community.
I welcome your thoughts and comments. I’d also like to encourage you to notice what feels present for you. What did/do you notice feeling present in your body?
Please be mindful of how you express your thoughts. If you’re feeling activated, it might be helpful to take a bit of time before responding. While this is generally not an issue I have with my community, this “topic” can bring up a lot. Any rude or disrespectful comments, to myself or others, will be removed.
