Hey CC babes, welcome to your weekly dose of all things cowgirl!!! Listen to part two of our chat with Chelsea Walton - if you haven't listened to part 1 already, make sure to go back and do that before starting this episode.
Chelsea opens up about her experience as a mature age student studying a Bachelor of Agribusiness at Marcus Oldham down in Geelong after being a head stockman at Killarney Station in the NT for 3 years. We cover what it was that made her jump on the opportunity, why she wanted to study at the age of 25, what she's got out of the journey so far, and what was the culture shock truly like going from the bush to the city and also juggling the mindset of transitioning from a boss to a student.
We tackle the questions of:
Did she feel like she was putting her life on hold?
Does she regret not studying earlier?
How did she cope with the adjustment?
What could be next on the cards?
Chelsea's biggest take homes for all cowgirls are:
- there's no comfort in growth, and there's no growth in comfort
- if you don't understand something, don't be afraid to ask the question

Hey CC babes, welcome to your weekly dose of all things cowgirl!! Today Chelsea Walton joins Bell to share her journey of entering into the Northern cattle industry and working her way to head stockman of the weaner camp at Killarney Station, NT.
Chelsea shares what her childhood was like growing up in town and how that shaped her resilience and determination to work hard, from droving as a 15-year-old when drought hit to doing her mechanic apprenticeship during school.
She opens up about making questionable decisions and learning from them and what ultimately led her to saying yes when she was offered the position of head stockman at the age of 21. Chelsea talks candidly about often resulting back to anger when she was first given that leadership role and what she did to better herself as a leader, admitting that it wasn't something that came naturally. From wrangling a team of working dogs with no former experience to tackling people skills, this chat will surely give you a laugh.
Make sure to check back in next week for part 2 where Chelsea shares the reality of studying as a mature age student down at Marcus Oldham.

Hey CC babes, welcome to your weekly dose of all things cowgirl!!! Today Bell is joined by female country artist, Tanner Adell all the way from the US. We're all about a good story here at the Cowgirl Channel and Tanner is the queen of crafting a good story into a song you won't forget.
From recording with Beyonce and being named CMT's Next Women in Country, Tanner is paving a new look and sound for country music.
Find out how her music career took off in Nashville by being true to her authentic self, and what highs and lows she's experienced along the way from dedicated fans to fighting the Nashville stigma as a biracial female.
We uncover the stories behind Tanner's girl-anthem songs and how she's pushing the boundaries whilst remaining respectful to country music.
We address slut shaming and tackle the use of the word 'Buckle Bunny' and how Tanner has flipped the meaning of it on it's head through her lyrics.
Tanner's take home message was 'keep your circle small' and don't give in to the societal pressures to be most popular or have the most friends.

Hey CC babes, welcome to SEASON 3 of the Cowgirl Channel! If you've been here since the very beginning, welcome back!!! If you're new here, we're so very excited to welcome you into the CC community - a common ground for women living rurally, and those longing to live rurally, to share real stories and laughs.
Today we are joined by the incredible Kaitie Nash. Now you might know Kaitie as The First Time Farmer on instagram, but today we dive into how Kaitie came to be a "first time farmer" at the age of 30 with a toddler and a baby - the reality was far from expectations she had romanticised from Farmer Wants a Wife!
Kaitie opens up about the challenges of the isolation, adjusting to a complete lifestyle change and losing herself in it all. After battling through the severe 2019 drought, financial stress and self inflicted shame of not loving life on the land like she had first hoped, Kaitie fell into a depression and shares what helped her heal and overcome the numbness she was experiencing.
It's an incredible tale of hardship, adversity and love. Kaitie is so vulnerable about her own journey in the hopes that it makes others experiencing similar feel less alone in their battles.
You can hear Kaitie's love for the farm and all things agriculture in her voice and she's now teaching people from the perspective of someone who is learning the ropes.
Please note this episode does discuss depression and suicide. If you or someone you know finds this triggering and needs support, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
