Dear FoundHer...

Creating Community to Drive Authority for Your Brand with Sally Mueller, Co-Founder of Womaness

Listen Later

Even though women spend almost a third of their lives in menopause, it has always been an uncommon topic of conversation. Following her own menopausal experience, Sally Mueller was on a mission to help other women through their own transitions. After a successful twenty-year career with Target, Sally leveraged her extensive experience in the retail space to start her own company. Today, she is a Co-Founder of Womaness, a brand that is centered around normalizing the conversation about menopause by providing women with innovate products that offer solutions for every need.

Growing up, Sally spent much of her time helping her mom grow her business in the beauty industry, so having an impact on the way women felt about themselves has always been on the forefront of Sally’s mind. After leaving her corporate career, Sally reinvented herself twice. Starting with a branding agency, Sally ultimately used her expertise to build a brand of her own. Passionate about the gap in menopausal education, Sally took it upon herself to team up with medical experts and create a line of products that touch on every stage of menopause. Womaness aims to create a community full of inspired women who embrace menopositvity.

Tune into this episode of Dear FoundHer… to learn more about the importance of utilizing experts, leaning on your network, and creating a brand that allows you to form a deep connection with your customers.

Quotes

• “We're trying to change the conversation around menopause and women's health. We are excited at the response because women are saying, “hallelujah, finally someone's addressing this space, and I finally feel like I have a brand for me.” (22:21-22:32)

• “From the beginning we’ve said, we're going to invest in experts. We're going to interview experts and have experts co-create content for us. And  we're really doubling down on that piece because it's been so important and so popular.” (26:08-26:26)

• “Going from the corporate world to your own business is a big adjustment. It makes you better at doing the work. In the big jobs you direct the work, but you forget how the work is done.” (42:07-42:28)

• “I always say to lean on your network because there's so many people that helped me along the way. I think it's really important to not feel like you're going out about this on your own.” (43:37-43:49)
