Dancing is a tradition that spans beyond cultures and generations. It has been used in worship, in celebration, as a way of self-expression and just for pure fun. Thus, stories of dancing have been passed down through generations. Whether it’s being told of through a Czechoslovakian folk tale, a humorous story of family, or a poem about a father and daughter, dancing brings societies and people alike together. It is speculated that people have been dancing for over nine thousand years, and it continues to be an integral part of society. Dancing is something that reaches people across oceans and time, and continues to show us that in the end, we are all a bit more similar than we are different. Even if we have different traditions and language, at our core, we are all the same.
