  • Can You Guess What The Most Used Word In Heavy Metal Music Is?
Being the heavy metal disciple he is, Dave Moore dedicated this Dave's World to a couple of metal music facts.
Ok, so I'll give you a clue - it's not 'death', 'kill' or 'devil'. Doesn't really help much, does it?
Dave's reveal is much more dramatic than anything I could type, so click into the podcast for the answer.
I think you'll find the "least used word" particularly interesting.

  • BBC Newsreader Makes A B*lls Of Pronouncing 'Boyz II Men"
    8 members too many buddy
Look, I know none of us are perfect but ya cannot help but have a good laugh about this BBC newsreader's blooper.
The man in question was announcing that Lil Naz X's hypnotic hit 'Old Town Road' has beaten Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's Billboard record for the longest running No.1, only the Roman numerals caught him rotten.
    Have a listen:

So it's not just Dublin then
2nd year UCC student Tom Redmond was in for a surprise on Tuesday evening when was faced with this queue outside an apartment he went to view:
.@MurphyEoghan is that housing policy working yet or should I just keep waiting? Pic from a viewing today in Cork city pic.twitter.com/yhn7y6CpRR

Like many students nationwide, Tom is desperately trying to lock in accommodation ahead of a new college year, but it's proving a lot more difficult than expected.
Dermot and Dave chat to the New Ross native about the viewing, where there was nearly 40 people waiting, and discover just how poor the quality of the €1,1oo-a-month property was.

  • Meet "Nico" - The Parrot That Cries EXACTLY Like A Baby To Get Attention
    This is Freaky
Dave's World has thrown up some weird sounds over the past few weeks, from a French bulldog that can sing like a diva to a Beluga whale that sounds just like a Dublin taxi man, but today, he outdid the lot of them.
One of our listeners sent in a video of a parrot called "Nico" that mimics the sound of a baby crying so people will come to him.
It was recorded in an exotic rescue centre in Michigan by owner Mark Rosenthal, who is constantly asked about the "baby".
Dave also treats us to a camel that is a carbon copy of Peter Griffin and this:

  • How To Overcome Your Fear Of Flying
    Wheels up
The fear of flying is a very common phobia that can cause lots of turbulence in a person's life.
And it seems no matter how many times they hear the "flying is safer than driving" statistic, once they get near an aircraft, it's panic stations.
Dermot and Dave received a call from Eoin, who has found himself and his family in a bit of a predicament.
Eoin's wife Lou has a crippling fear of flying and with only a very small window of time before they jet off to Majorca, she needs help to be able to face a 4-hour plane journey.
The lads asked listeners, who may have been in the same boat (well, aeroplane actually), for their advice on how they conquered aviophobia.
'JD' recommends Michael Comyn's Fly Fearless course as a speedy remedy and phobia expert Brian Colbert offers some NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).

  • New DNA Test Determines How Long You Are Going To Live
    "Take control of your DNA"
Ever wondered how long you are going to live? Of course you have - we all have.
Well now, thanks to some breakthrough science, the power to longevity is in our own hands.
Chronomics is a personal epigenetics and biotechnology company based in London that has created a pioneering saliva testing kit to collect your epigenetic data.
Epigenetics is the study of biological mechanisms that switch genes on and off. It controls your DNA and is affected by environmental and lifestyle changes, in a nutshell, our genetics is fixed, epigenetics is dynamic.
So by altering these genes and cells, one can, in theory, live longer.
CEO and co-founder of the company, Dr Tom Stubbs explains how this science works in providing a "specific guideline to your epigenetics so that people focus on the strongest lever to improve their health".
It extracts 20 times the amount of data compared to other DNA tests.
We know there are thousands of factors that can impact a person's lifespan, but this piece of kit is definitely a proactive step for healthcare.
After all, prevention is better than cure.

  • Greg's Sister Invites Amber Round To Meet Their Grandparents
"She still has to pass the sister test"
Love Island winner Greg O'Shea woke up as the most famous man in Ireland this morning, with an extra £25k in his back pocket and babe on his arm. Not a bad return for his 2 weeks in the villa.
A little thank you from your brand new king and queen of the villa, Amber and Greg! #LoveIsland pic.twitter.com/z9v4i3qoFL
    — Love Island (@LoveIsland) July 29, 2019
Himself and Amber beat the odds by pipping long-term lovers Tommy and Molly-Mae at the post and the reaction to their win has been very well received.
Greg melted viewer's hearts over the past fortnight, not only with those puppy dog eyes and shredded torso, he's also savage craic, has a great personality, kind-hearted and far from "childish". Talk about ticking the boxes.
Dermot and Dave chat to his sister Laura and his best friend Shane to find out if what we witnessed on screen was too good to be true, or if he is indeed the perfect catch?
Shane reckons his buddy was, "himself for the whole thing" and that's what sealed the deal.
When asked if the O'Shea's would invite her round for a Sunday lunch, Laura replies with, "oh ya sure she has to meet granny and grandad as well. She hasn't passed that test either".
Laura admits how "completely crazy" it was watching her bro on screen and has a good laugh about the times her and her parents had to avert their eyes from those scenes in the bedroom.
