  • A Singing Bulldog That Sounds Like Lady Gaga? Wtf?
    "Tell me something boy..."
Ok, so over the past couple of weeks on Dave's World, we've had a porcupine with an Irish accent, a beluga whale that sounds exactly like a Dublin taxi man and now....we've got ourselves a French Bulldog that sounds like Lady Gaga.
    Seeing (and hearing) is believing:
Who knows what Dermot and Dave will have for us next, but I suspect it will be just as weird and wonderful.

  • Conor Moore Tells Us About Lowry Drinking Him Under The Table
"I waved the white flag there yesterday"
So in case you haven't heard, a fella by the name of Shane Lowry won some jug or something on Sunday and he's been on the sauce since.
It's a party that even Marty Morrissey wouldn't be able for, and a man who was with him for the most of it is impressionist extraordinaire Conor Moore (aka Conor Sketches).

Having gotten back to the real world, Dermot and Dave chat to Conor about the sesh and ask if it was as mental as it looked.

  • Can You Pass The World's Shortest IQ Test?
    3 'Simple' Questions
Dermot and Dave's Dave's World was today hijacked by team member Seán Reidy.
Seán loves flexing his and other people's brain muscles (he loves the cerebrum), but he's a busy man so hasn't got all day to do it.
The Clare man had three quick-fire questions from MIT Professor Shane Frederick to challenge us with something called a Cognitive Reflection Test.
    Here they are:
1 - A bat and a ball cost $1.10 in total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?
2 - If it takes five machines five minutes to make five widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?
3 - In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of the lake?
    So....whataya think?

  • What Does Britain's New Prime Minister Have In Store For Ireland?
    What a load of Boris!
The unthinkable has happened lads, as of today, the Tory leader becomes the Don of Downing Street, an appointment that has sent out a wave of bewilderment and fear.
Being coined as 'Britain's Trump' doesn't bode well for Boris Johnson, or anywhere in the world for that matter.
It has also become very apparent in recent times that he's not a huge fan of the Irish, and with the whole Brexit farce still no closer to being resolved, how are his decisions going to affect it all?
Dermot and Dave chat to Communicorp's Group Political Correspondent, Sean Defoe about the new British Prime Minister and why Ireland should brace itself.

  • Say Stuff That Suits The Music
It’s Wednesday, and you know what Wednesday means - it’s time to Say Stuff That Suits The Music!
Dave plays the tracks and Dermot says whatever comes into his head.
This week's imaginings include: a not-so-'Fun Day' in Mayo, a gig-obsessed Superman, some really poor Pharaoh protection and the loudest creche you've ever heard.

  • Ireland’s Very First Live Blind Date Captivated Thousands Of Listeners Today
But will there be a second date?
Ok...so who's had enough of this online dating nonsense? A person could spend weeks, even months, messaging what seems like a phantom only to learn they actually don't want to meet. Wtf?
Sick of hearing all those disastrous swiping stories, Today FM's Dermot and Dave created an ingenious way for one lucky couple to get to know each other, minus the messing.
In a mission to help their 'Honest Dater' (Eve Darcy) finally meet a lad with some potential, the team setup a LIVE blind date that they would EVE-sdrop on throughout the 3 hours of their show.
But would the Sligo gal be impressed by the tasty piece of hunky Galwegian meat (aka Darren Coen) we had sourced?
    When Eve met Darren

  • Shane Lowry's Former Golf Coach Describes Just How Special He Was As A Youngster
"all he wanted to do was hit golf balls"
The whole of Ireland is on the crest of a patriotic wave after Clara native Shane Lowry lifting the Claret Jug in Portrush on Sunday.
His six-shot victory in Antrim not only made him the 5th Irishman to get his hands on the prestigious trophy, he's now the only Irish player to win a Major on Irish soil. A nice little cherry on top.
And whether you're a fan of golf or not, you cannot help but fall for the endearing nature Lowry possesses. He feels like someone you want to be friends with, or go on the lash with. He's warm, fun and loves his country

One man who knows him very well is his former coach Donagh McArdle. Donagh was the Head Professional at Tullamore Golf Club for 25 years and was also the Leinster Development Coach.
Speaking on Dermot and Dave, McArdle explains how he was introduced to Shane, "I got an email saying there's a young guy down the road showing a lot of promise".
He goes on to say, "this guy had something special....he had a very natural, raw talent, all we had to do was keep him on the straight and narrow".
Donagh also tells us how the new Champion Golfer of the Year learned from his howler of a last round at the US Open in Oakmont in 2016, where he threw away a four point lead on the last day.

  • Expert Advice On How To Stop Being So Hard On Yourself
    "I AM enough"
There's no doubt about it, when it comes to finding fault, we are all our own worst critics.
Notions like "I can't" or "that's stupid" creep into our psyche on a regular basis and it can be quite inhibiting for certain people.
Like did you know that 80% of our thoughts are negative? This figure is sure to explain why most of us have limited beliefs.
So if this sounds familiar, which I'm sure it does, then hypnotherapist and Happiness Trainer Pauline Rohdich has some very practical advice and methods to help you become more positive in life.
It was Pauline who informed us of the startling 80% statistic above and reveals that "the common denominator of all our emotional issues is actually this phrase 'I'm not enough'".
She continues to explain that "whatever we give our attention to is going to grow", meaning we need to nurture our mindfulness and make that shift to a positive mental attitude via repetition and taking back power from the past.
Check Pauline's enlightenment in full by pressing the play button on screen.
