Yesterday - as a part of the tiny eco choice challenge - I skipped the take-out and cooked stuff I already had in the pantry, but when I do order from local spots - I choose some of them based on the reusability/recyclability of their to-go containers.
Other notable points: Don't throw away what's already working - even if it's plastic. Estate sales, yard sales, thrift stores, and online consignment shops are great ways to buy new products. Fix it, instead of upgrading it, if you can!
