Episode 113 is on the scene and we welcome Mazda MX-5 Cup Star Jared Thomas to the show. Jared recently made history by becoming the first driver to win a Mazda MX-5 event on an oval at Martinsville Speedway a few weeks ago. He tells his story and delivers an education on how he got into this series and his thoughts on ovals in general.

We review the Battle of the Stars from New River All American Speedway. Conner Jones picked up another late model stock win and we discuss how he is coming into his own as a competitor for Mike Darne Racing plus we give our thoughts about the event itself.

Nine of our beloved short tracks in North Carolina have recently come together to form the North Carolina Short Track Coalition. We don't have a lot of details yet on what this means for the asphalt tracks in North Carolina (Bowman Gray, Southern National, Wake County, Tri-County, Caraway, Ace, Carteret, New River All American & Orange County) but Julian spoke with Ace Speedway Promoter Jason Turner and he shares some of that phone conversation that tells us a little bit more about this exciting endeavor.

The South Carolina 400 is this weekend and the boys break down the big Late Model Stock race in Florence. Over 50 cars will go for a prestigious win, $10,000 and a palm tree which includes some of the toughest competitors in the region not to mention some guy named Dale Jr is running. We give you our drivers to watch and we pick our four favorites and a piece that will have the biggest impact on the race.

Episode 112 is on the scene and we welcome the 2024 STAR Super Stock Tour Champion Alby Ovitt to the show along with the winner of their season finale from Hickory Motor Speedway Jeff Melton!

We review the Fall Brawl from Hickory Motor Speedway which saw Connor Hall win in his debut event for JR Motorsports and discuss the North South Shootout from Caraway Speedway won by once again, Matt Hirschman. Plus we preview the Battle Of The Stars from New River All American Speedway and debate the playoff system. Where does Joey Logano’s third championship puts him with the greats? Is this championship tainted because he was so mediocre during the regular season? Plus we talk about Justin Allgaier finally capturing the Xfinity Title, Ty Majeski winning the Truck Series Title plus Julian tries chicken salad for the first time ever!

Episode 111 is on the scene and we welcome the winner of the 2024 Rodney Cook Classic from Ace Speedway Heath Causey to the podcast. This second generation racer was born into the sport racing with his dad Gary and he tells his story while we recap the 11th running of the race honoring Rodney and Nukey Cook. 

The zMAX CARS Tour has announced its 2025 schedule and we dissect the new schedule and offer our opinions on that one date that is still "TBA".

Race manipulation struck at Martinsville Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series involving Toyota and Chevy in the final laps. This ultimately put a black eye on what was one of the best short track races in this Next Gen car. We discuss the steps NASCAR took on Sunday and what steps they need to take going forward. Episode 110 is on the scene and we welcome three time CARS Tour champion Bobby McCarty to the podcast. We discuss what led to the formation of McCarty Motorsports and why now was the time to pull the trigger on this. We discuss what led to his departure from R&S Race Cars, which NASCAR Hall Of Famer gave him a positive reaction to his announcement and his feelings towards the future of short track racing.
We discuss the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour finale from Martinsville on Saturday. Justin Bonsignore ends the season with a three race win streak and we debate his place amongst the great in tour modified racing. We also discuss Whelen Engineering extending their entitlement agreement to sponsor the tour and their big commitment to the sport which includes more money into the purses and incentives to run full time. 

The NASCAR Cup Series had a phenomenal race at Homestead Miami Speedway on Sunday which saw three lead changes in the closing moments of the race. Was this the greatest Next Gen Playoff race of this era? The impact Michael Jordan has on this team by being at the track, Tyler Reddick's walk-off win awkwardness if 23X1 would win the title and all the other stories from the weekend.

Episode 109 is on the scene following the big Championship Weekend from North Wilkesboro Speedway. 2024 SMART Modified Tour Powered by Pace-O-Matic Champion Luke Baldwin joins us to discuss his big night in Wilkes County. Jody and Julian recap the season finale with exclusive comments from race winner Justin Bonsignore, Matt Hirschman, Carson Loftin and Jake Crum. 

The zMAX CARS Tour crowned champions in the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock Division. Jody and Julian break down all the key storylines as Kaden Honeycutt rallied from being down six points before the race and a few close calls during the race to walk it off with a win and the championship. He spoke to Julian following the race and we captured his thoughts about the season. We also caught up with runner up in the race TJ Decaire, Owners Champion Spencer Davis & third place Cameron Bolin following their nights.

Brenden "Butterbean" Queen survived issues with his throttle and a near accident early to claim the late model championship. He discussed this with Julian following the race and gave his thoughts about what this means to him. We also hear from the main challenger  for the title Connor Hall and Carson Kvapil who is leaving the CARS Tour full time to go run the Xfinity Series full time for JR Motorsports next season. Conner Jones who drives for Mike Darne Racing ended the season with two straight wins and we also caught up with him following his win. 

Joey Logano wins at Las Vegas and is going to race for a title at Phoenix. We give our thoughts about this and the topsy turvy day at Las Vegas which included Tyler Reddick rolling down the front stretch, Larson's comeback and how Paul Wolfe played the gas mileage game to help Logano win.

Episode 108 is on the scene with the latest winner on the STAR Super Stock Tour Jeff Melton. Melton took home the trophy on Saturday at South Boston Speedway and the former New Year's Bash winner tells us about his weekend, how he got his start, his inspiration for his awesome throwback schemes he runs and we find out indeed where his money is. It was a treat to talk to the Street Stock veteran and you'll need to tune in for the entire interview!

Officiating is the name of the game this week in nearly every series we covered this weekend. Burt Myers picked up his first win of the season Saturday at South Boston but it didn't come without controversy. An interpretation of the rule book caused the tour to turn the SMART 3 into the SMART 5 for North Wilkesboro. We give our analysis of what went down and what to expect this weekend for the season finale.

The zMAX CARS Tour saw it's Pro Late Model event came down to it being shortened because of the curfew at Tri-County and Tristan McKee having his victory reversed due to him jumping the last restart. This awarded the race to second place finisher Kaden Honeycutt and Julian caught up with him for an exclusive conversation about that and his big plans for 2025 in the Truck Series. 

Fuel was a major issue as contenders ran out of gas in the Late Model feature Saturday. Conner Jones survived the carnage and had enough gas to claim his first win since 2022. We were able to catch up with him. We discuss that plus Connor Hall's new ride for 2025 and what the two championship contenders need to do this weekend in the North Wilkesboro finale.

Officiating came to play for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Cup Series events at the Charlotte Roval. We discuss Alex Bowman's disqualification that knocks him out of the playoffs, the decision to throw the yellow just as Parker Kligerman was crossing the finish line to take the white flag and we make our picks for the Round of 8 in both the Xfinity and Cup Series.

Episode 107 is on the scene and we welcome the 2024 Super Street Division Champion at Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire, Chris Riendeau to the podcast. The Vermont native talks to Jody and Julian about his start in racing which included racing Chevy Cavalier's as a twelve year old to  navigating through the tough tracks in the North East to his will to race down south in the big races. We discuss what drives him to make the 12-14 hour trips down south and he gives us some surprising insight about tires, the cost of racing among other differences from the North and South. 

The boys preview the upcoming STAR Super Stock Tour event at South Boston Speedway which Riendeau will be competing in. The track is also the home for the next to last SMART Modified Tour event of 2024. The boys give you insight on who will race for a championship and who will be the ones to beat at SoBo this weekend.

The CARS Tour is back in action at Tri-County Speedway and the boys break down the insane points battle between Connor Hall and Brenden 'Butterbean Queen as well as who has the edge in their next to last race of the season.

NASCAR is facing some heavy criticism over the damaged vehicle policy at Talladega on Sunday as well as the ongoing lawsuit the sanctioning body is facing as a result from the injunction filed by 23X1 and Front Row Motorsports. The boys discuss what this means for the future of the sport and the race teams and dive into Ricky Stenhouse Jr's first win since the Daytona 500 in 2023. 

The Rodney Cook Classic is a little less than a month away but the format is facing a lot of discussion from racers and family members of Rodney online. We discuss the format and why it is causing so much controversy while debating if the buzz being created is a good thing for the event.

Episode 106 is on the scene and we give you a full recap of the Valley Star 300 from Martinsville Speedway. Brandon White of NASCAR Regional joins us to help us break down this year's running of the event. We discuss Carson Kvapil adding this crown jewel to his impressive resume, Mike Looney's runner up finish, Lee Pulliam's return to the driver's seat, the Virginia Triple Crown, the event being moved to a one day show and our thoughts about the new race director Chase Brashears plus exclusive interviews with several of the key players. 

We are joined by NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series star Layne Riggs. Riggs has been on a tear lately by winning two of the last three races. We discuss what has led to the turnaround, if he's going to race the playoff drivers any difference since he didn't make the playoffs this year, gelling with Front Row Motorsports, an update on his shoulder and what he is going to do what is going to do with the Sword he won at Bristol among other subjects. 

STAR Super Stock Tour promoter Boo Carlisle returns to talk about the upcoming event at South Boston Speedway, what led to the creation of the event, their new tire compound, ways to get new competitors to come run with the tour and where he sees the series as it wraps up its second year plus more!

We discuss the latest playoff event at Kansas where several playoff drivers suffered trouble. Littleton, North Carolina native and zMAX CARS Tour Rookie of the Year contender Buddy Isles Jr joins the show. We discuss his dirt racing origins, why he wanted to move to asphalt racing, moving up to the CARS Tour, why he switched from Mike Darne Racing to Van Dyke Performance mid season, why he runs the Ray Hendrick style number 11 on his cars and his preparation for Martinsville. 

Daniel Silvestri has a new opportunity driving for Tom Usry Racing this year at Martinsville. He discusses why this may be the best opportunity he has to bring home a Grandfather Clock, how this deal came together after Kaden Honeycutt received his Truck opportunity this weekend and what he's been up to this season which includes running Legend Cars and getting closer to finishing up his school work at Virginia Tech. 

Alby Ovitt returned to victory lane on the STAR Super Stock Tour for the third time this season on Saturday. This win came at fast Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, Virginia. Ovitt describes his feelings about visiting the 3/8ths mile bullring for the first time, the close racing with Jeff Melton and what he thought of his nephew winning his first race in New Hampshire on the same weekend!

We give our thoughts on Franklin County Speedway's championship night which included Keyshaun Claytor's walk off win and championship in the last set of turns and salute Langley Austin for promoting his last race at the speedway...for now at least.

Myers discusses going back to back in what was an extremely competitive Limited Sportsman Division in 2024 and his preparations to go for a Martinsville Speedway grandfather clock in two weeks. This is the second part of our champions spotlight from South Boston Speedway.

Danny Bohn recently picked up his first career SMART Modified Tour win at Carteret County on Labor Day Weekend. Bohn joins the show coming off a third place finish at Dominion over the weekend. Bohn discusses his big season on the SMART Tour, his past NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity Series opportunities and how he feels the current SMART Modified Tour stacks up with the former NASCAR Southern Modified Tour a decade ago and much more!

We had a conversation with Carson Kvapil who returned to zMAX CARS Tour victory lane on Saturday at South Boston.
