• Visible barriers – It is time to order more barriers. Make your infection control visible to your patients.

• Aerosols – Order things that can attach to the high vac suction to catch aerosols. Things like the Ivory Releaf, Dry Shield, Isolight, etc.  Order the kona adapters from amazon to save money.
• Air quality – Order some in room air purifiers. Medify air on amazon look good for in each op. They are around $120 each.   You can also order some UV lights that go into your HVAC system throughout the office.  Honeywell makes a UV light for HVAC that you can buy from amazon.  Last, order these medical grade air purifiers from surgically clean air.

-Be clear on what that goal is going to be, be clear, do not be ambiguous.

-Don’t Reinvent the wheel.  Find someone who has already done what you are trying to do.

-Get rolling right away,  get it scheduled. Speed of implementation is key.

-Keep in touch with the mentor

Dr. Etchison explains…

-It its not in the calendar, it doesn’t get done. It needs to be a priority.

-With specifics to the dental practice: 1) focused more on reappoint rate and expanding hygiene.  2) focused on training the team so that you spend less time in the hygiene ops so you can see three hygienists at once.

-It’s not always about the practice.  We should be setting goals about health, family, and relationships.

-Why would a sane person not follow the system? Ask yourself.  Ask the team member. Ask for input from them.  We need to have a real conversation.

-Make sure you are clear on what the system and the conditions of the system are.  Get it in writing.
