  • Ep. 177 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “History’s Greatest Mysteries: Who Is The Zodiac Killer?”
Christopher and Eric's cross country journey of murder and mayhem begins with California Screaming month, the first chapter in the True Crime Movie Time Summer Film Festival, a series of episodes devoted to "true crime pairings" featuring some of America's most notorious human predators. How have your hosts gone this long without covering the Zodiac killer (or killers, plural)? Perhaps it's the story's epic scope, packed as it with years of false leads and cryptic, terrifying letters sent to the media by a man claiming to be responsible for scores of killings throughout the San Francisco Bay Area (and possibly beyond). In this installment of Christopher & Eric's True Crime Club, they serve up episode 2 of season 4 of HISTORY'S GREATEST MYSTERIES: Who Is The Zodiac Killer? As Laurence Fishburne whisks us through a dizzying array of facts and files about California's most elusive serial killer, Eric arrives at a sure-to-be controversial conclusion about where the investigation might have gone wrong. It's a nice set up for next week's episode, a True Crime Move Time airing in which your hosts put fact to fiction to analyze the director's cut of the critically acclaimed David Fincher film, ZODIAC.

  • Ep. 176 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “Stealing Van Gogh: The Greatest Art Heist of the 21st Century”
In the final burst of April Showers Bring Van Gogh Flowers Month, Christopher and Eric embark on a dizzying international journey that begins with a swift and skillful break in at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, which your hosts visited only weeks before. (They're innocent. We promise!) In STEALING VAN GOGH: THE GREATEST ART HEIST OF THE 21st CENTURY on the Real Stories You Tube channel, art historian Andrew Graham Dixon takes a globe-trotting journey in search of two beloved Van Gogh paintings that were stolen in the dead of night by accomplished thieves. From the streets of Amsterdam to the frigid alleyways of the Ukraine to the sun drenched suburbs of Naples, Italy, it's a suspenseful and ultimately gratifying story that taught Christopher and Eric the real value of art in the eyes of the criminal underworld.

  • Ep. 175 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime Movie Time Presents “At Eternity’s Gate”
April Showers Bring Van Gogh Flowers Month unleashes another storm as your hosts bring you an unusual selection for this "true crime pairing", AT ETERNITY'S GATE, an art house biopic of one of the world's greatest artists, whose works have been subjected to numerous allegations of fraud and instances of theft. Julian Schnabel might be a celebrated visual artist, but as a filmmaker, is he up to the task of capturing the soul of the late Vincent van Gogh? Christopher and Eric have strong opinions. And in comparing fact to fiction, Eric has questions and a lot to say about the bullet that ended Vincent's life — and where it might have come from.

  • Ep. 174 — Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “The Fake Van Gogh Paintings?”
April showers bring Van Gogh flowers as Christopher and Eric celebrate their return from Europe with a twisty, international true crime tale involving the incredible artist they paid tribute to on their recent trip abroad. Vincent Van Gogh's life and career were short and marked by great mental challenges culminating in a tragic end. Today he's considered one of the greatest painters of all time. But allegations of forgery and fraud bedevil some of his most beloved works. In THE FAKE VAN GOGH PAINTINGS on the Real Stories You Tube Channel, the tale of a record breaking auctioned canvas that may or may not have been by his hand exposes the strange path to greatness his paintings traveled in the wake of his brutal and untimely death.

  • Ep. 172 – The Murder of William Arnold Newton Pt. X – Case Closed: Interview with LA Times Journalist Kevin Rector
Two years ago, Christopher and Eric used this podcast to bring much needed attention to the brutal homicide of a young gay man named William Arnold Newton, whose severed head and feet were found in a Hollywood dumpster in 1990. But when they went looking for local newspaper articles about Billy's gruesome and disturbing murder, the pickings were slim. Worse, there wasn't a word about the case to be found in LA's local paper of record, the Los Angeles Times. All that changed when out journalist Kevin Rector brought Billy Newton's face and story to the paper's front page. In this conclusion to #JusticeforBilly month, Rector joins Christopher and Eric for a discussion of the evolving nature of covering dark stories that involve the LGBT community — as well as sex workers and other marginalized communities — and the team of devoted amateur sleuths who brought Billy's story into his inbox and onto the Times’ front page.

  • Ep. 171 – The Murder of William Arnold Newton Pt. IX, Case Closed: Interview with Documentarian Rachel Mason
Two years ago, Christopher and Eric used this podcast to bring much needed attention to the brutal homicide of a young gay man named William Arnold Newton, whose severed head and feet were found in a Hollywood dumpster in 1990. Meanwhile, documentarian Rachel Mason's groundbreaking, Ryan Murphy-produced film, CIRCUS OF BOOKS, had helped humanize sex workers by offering a wry peek inside the ordinary lives of a family devoted to gay adult entertainment — her own. In the course of her research into the world of the industry's early 90's performers, she came across the disturbing story of Billy Newton's gruesome murder, and an obsession was born. #JusticeForBilly month continues as Rachel visits the studio to give us a peek inside the extensive documentary series she's planning about Billy's case. Christopher, Eric and Rachel reflect about the cosmic timing of their shared obsessions, which took hold of them right before the 30th anniversary of Billy's murder, obsessions that ultimately helped identify a killer after three decades of darkness and grief. Was Billy somehow guiding us all?

  • Ep. 170 – The Murder of William Arnold Newton Pt. VIII – Case Closed: Interview with Citizen Detective Clark Williams
Two years ago, Christopher and Eric used this podcast to bring much needed attention to the brutal homicide of a young gay man named William Arnold Newton, whose severed head and feet were found in a Hollywood dumpster in 1990. Meanwhile, empty nester Clark Williams was trying to find a new direction in life after his daughter had departed for college. Then he encountered an article about a shocking tip generated by Christopher and Eric's efforts to shine light on the long unsolved, brutal murder of a young gay man named Billy Newton. Clark and Billy were from the same hometown, with too much in common to be ignored. And so an obsession with Billy Newton's story was born — and not two years later, Billy’s murder was solved! #JusticeForBilly month continues with this jaw dropping look into the exhaustive, methodical and impeccable research methods Clark Williams used to follow a trail of clues from a Hollywood dumpster to the Oklahoma prison cell of Billy's killer. It's an amazing and inspiring story of how a smart, and dedicated private citizen found justice for a heinous crime in danger of being forgotten.

Two years ago, Christopher and Eric used this podcast to bring much needed attention to the brutal homicide of a young gay man named William Arnold Newton, whose severed head and feet were found in a Hollywood dumpster in 1990. After a series of shocking revelations, the case has been solved, and a victim in danger of being forgotten has now been featured on the front page of the Los Angeles Times. #JusticeForBilly month begins with a stunning visit from LAPD homicide detective John Lamberti. After declaring the investigation at a dead end on Ep. 151 of this podcast late last year, he takes us on a breathless journey inside the Oklahoma prison where the 30-year old cold case was cracked by a stunning confession, and on behalf of the LAPD, his special message for your dedicated hosts brings tears to their eyes.

  • Ep. 168 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “The Playboy Murders: Bunny Meets Bachelor”
Find out how this wrap up to Toxic Love Month almost became a second train wreck episode. (We're looking at you, Christopher.) Jasmine Fiore was determined to use her Playboy Playmate career as a stepping stone to a better life than the one in which her father abandoned their family and her mother struggled to make ends meet. So how did she end up horribly beaten, and mutilated and disposed of in an Orange County dumpster? Christopher and Eric chart the sad and infuriating course as they serve up the premiere episode of the brand new Discovery ID series THE PLAYBOY MURDERS entitled "Bunny Meets Bachelor".
