DINNER PARTNERS with Christopher & Eric

It's been one year since we lost our beloved Premiere Party Person, Anne Rice. As we remember this sad anniversary, we bring you a special encore presentation of one of our most emotional episodes. Recorded before a live audience at Colleen Hoover's Book Bonanza in Dallas, Texas earlier this year, join Christopher and Eric, and their special guests, bestselling romance writers Lexi Blake and Xio Axelrod, as they pay tribute to one of popular fiction's most legendary authors, who was also a remarkable mother to Christopher and one of Eric's dearest friends.

We're calling it the train wreck episode, and not just because the crime involved took place next to some railroad tracks. Listen to find out why this became the most chaotic installment of Christopher and Eric's True Crime TV Club to date. Allegedly your hosts serve up an episode of a show called DEAD OF WINTER. Specifically, episode 5 of season 1. We think. We hope. One thing's for sure, madcap antics ensue. But that's par for the course at the TDPS Network.

The brutal slaying of a prominent attorney's wife and son is only the beginning of this dark saga of murder, homophobia and corruption in South Carolina's Low Country. Your hosts — former southerners themselves — take a deep dive into this swampy, deadly soup by way of the HBO Max documentary series LOW COUNTRY: THE MURDAUGH DYNASTY. By the end, they have a possible theory of the case no one seems to be talking about. Do you agree?

Smart British crime-solvers and gorgeous royal gowns. A riveting historical novel about one woman's search for revenge in earthquake ravaged San Francisco. It's all on the menu at Christopher and Eric's holiday time round up of their pop culture highlights from 2022. Belly up to the table as your hosts ladle out delicious servings of the TV shows they were most thankful for this year, along with tasty treats from the worlds of film and publishing as well

Where are the children? Some true crime stories reach out from the screen and grab you by the throat from the second you first read the headline. That's what happened to Christopher and Eric when the tale of one of the most evil mothers in history first started making headlines in 2019. Does the new Netflix series SINS OF OUR MOTHER reveal depths of Lori Vallow's delusional evil and religious fanaticism that haven't been reached by previous coverage? Your hosts are determined to find out.

Are Christopher and Eric really going to do an entire episode about daylight savings time? Not really. They're going to take an entire episode to spotlight how much they DESPISE daylight savings time. And apparently you do too, Party People, because you flooded our Facebook page with comments to that effect. If there's anything dimmer than daylight savings time itself, it's critic-at-large Jordan Ampersand, who brings us his  unenlightening man on the street report on this unexpectedly incendiary topic.

In the two years since your hosts Christopher and Eric started marking the Halloween season anniversary of young Billy Newton's gruesome and long unsolved murder, new witnesses and a potential suspects have emerged. For Christopher and Eric's first in studio interview, the LAPD homicide detective who inherited the case brings us an update on the current state of the investigation, and a new set of possibilities for concerned citizens who want to keep Billy's memory alive. In addition, Christopher and Eric bring you a special Halloween “unsolved” edition of True Crime TV Club serving up episode 3, season 5 of TRUE CRIME WITH APHRODITE JONES entitled "A Halloween Horror Story".

To listen to all the episodes featuring the William Arnold "Billy" Newton case and how it came to a stunning conclusion, check out our Episode Guide.

Are vampires real? Do werewolves enjoy their hairy gifts? Speaking of hair, would Christopher and Eric be able to recognize William Shatner in public if he didn't have his wig on? And why did William Shatner block Christopher on Twitter?! These are the thrilling, urgent and scientific questions your hosts tackle as they serve up episode 15 of THE UNXPLAINED, a show that mixes green screens and questionable scholarship with a side of the stomach turning. In addition, Christopher and Eric recall the creative process that first shaped Anne Rice's bestselling series "The Wolf Gift Chronicles".

As your hosts Christopher and Eric kick off the Halloween season, they turned to you, our beloved Party People, to hear about the scariest experience you ever had that couldn't be easily explained. Ghosts! Messages from the beyond! Strange figures walking in the woods. There are chills aplenty on this spooky new episode, thanks to your spine-tingling contributions on The Dinner Party Show's Facebook page. And a last minute addition from critic-at-large Jordan Ampersand that's sure to terrify anyone with a shred of decency or common sense.

For years now, Eric Shaw Quinn has proclaimed that if Lyle and Erik Menendez had been women, there would be statues of them on the lawn of the Beverly Hills Courthouse. Today, as the Discovery ID documentary MENENDEZ BROTHERS: MISJUDGED makes clear, a growing movement of young people are starting to agree with your host. Do Lyle and Erik Menendez deserve to spend the rest of their life behind bars, or have they been further victimized by a despicably dishonest prosecutor's office, the questionable decisions of the presiding judge and society's refusal to accept that sexual abuse of young men is a real and terrible epidemic?
