Some people think that narcissists are cold, evil, and calculated - able to inflict the most grievous of wounds, without losing any sleep over it. Others think that narcissists are essentially functional automatons, who move through life with little regard for the consequences of their actions, but with no true malicious intent. Rather, they think that narcissists are simply oblivious to or ignoring of the feelings and needs of others - just unable or unwilling to recognize them.
