  • Hacks to increase sales in your email funnel
One of the biggest mysteries in the online entrepreneurial space is selling passive products. Time and time again I hear/see mompreneurs say that they have an amazing passive product, but don’t sell it regularly because they don’t know how.

They’ve run the webinars, challenges, done the video series, written the entirely passive email sequences and the results are lackluster. Open rates are low and click rates are non-existent.

But then there seems to be a small percentage of online entrepreneurs who lean into that passive income side of their business and it blows up like crazy. They experience massive growth thanks to a ridiculously high converting email sales funnel that sells FOR them, on autopilot. They live the entrepreneurial dream: sell their passive products daily, while they’re sleeping, on vacation, playing with their kids, or even just taking a day off.

Their business literally runs in the background of the life they are actually living.

    So what gives?

What makes these entrepreneurs different from you? It’s not that they have a better product or that they possess some magical ju ju that gets them results. It’s that they have the strategy behind a highly converting email funnel AND that they are in it for the long run.

Email sales funnels are a long-term game. And just because it doesn’t work on the first try doesn’t mean it’s not for you.

Despite being a long-term game, there are some key factors that MOST successful email funnels have that help to contribute to conversions and a higher success rate. Here are three factors to consider to increase the conversion rate of your email sales funnel.

  • Changing the world one mompreneur at a time with Amy Rasdal
Amy Rasdal is a working mom of two kids, ages 15 and 5, who traded her corporate job for consulting 15 years ago. Today, she makes more money than most executives and lives a very blended life with almost no boundaries, working and playing every day. As the founder of Billable with Baby, Amy helps liberate other corporate working mothers by empowering them to build their own successful consulting businesses. She's quick on the mute button and can tell you a foolproof way to do a professional conference call from Disneyland.

    QUICK TAKEAWAYS:

Amy’s super power is an uncanny ability to get to the “root cause”, which is the thing that is preventing you (or a product) from moving forward successfully. Amy attributes this to her previous career experience and intuition.

Focus, prioritization, and confidence have been Amy’s tools to help her create a thriving 6-figure business.

Oftentimes business owners prioritize the wrong things, because they are afraid of doing the things that will actually move them forward because of fear. If you’re finding yourself “busy” all the time, then you’re probably not prioritizing the things that actually move you forward every single day.

Amy is selective in what she overcomes vs. what she embraces when it comes to hitting and surpassing her goals. If you try to overcome too many things, then she finds that it facilitates overwhelm and then analysis paralysis.

Amy’s children have never seen her go to work, but they have grown up playing on the floor of her office. Having kids 10 years apart in age has made her so motivated to serve women who also want to have more options and choices for raising her kids.

Two pieces of advice from Amy: (1) Starting a consulting business is a lot easier than you’re thinking it can be. (2) Never let a day go by without doing something for networking, marketing, and/or business development.

  • Is it time to delete your Facebook Group?
When do you throw in the towel and delete your Facebook Group?

For a while now online marketers have been saying that Facebook Groups are dead, that they don’t matter anymore, that they are a waste of time, and I think that’s soooooo not true.

With Facebook’s recent changes to cast a deep net instead of a wide net within the world’s largest social media outlet, they are now emphasizing Facebook Groups as a way to facilitate those deeper connections. They are more private, more intimate, and much more focused on relationships.

As an online entrepreneur, it’s never been a better time to monopolize on this new emphasis.

But time and time again mompreneurs start Facebook Groups with the best of intentions, only to let them fall to the wayside when they stop working. Usually what happens is there is a flurry of activity when the Group is first started, but eventually over the course of a month or two, engagement starts to dwindle, so it is assumed that no one is interested anymore and the Facebook Group Admin slowly starts to fall out of love with their Facebook Group.

On the other hand, you see the bigger names in your industry shutting down their Groups of tens of thousands of members. Why would they walk away from all of those potential clients? It seems crazy to do such a thing!

  • Nail your niche
The riches are in the niches. Have you ever heard that expression before?

I remember the first time I heard it from my coach 4 years ago, I totally rolled my eyes. Granted, I was in a very different place and an entirely different business, but I wrote it off as a bunch of malarkey. I had a personal training business that was tanking and I couldn’t seem to find clients to save my life. I was certified and trained to serve a wide variety of clients so why would niching down when it comes to who I serve benefit me?

Wouldn’t that be limiting the amount of clients I could serve? And therefore, limiting my business?

So I continued to cast a wide net when it came to my marketing. I talked about geriatric fitness, fitness for special populations, postpartum fitness, and even strength training for athletes.

And yes, still no new clients.

Finally after 4 months of no new clients I decided to actually listen to my coach and niche down. My favorite clients were my postpartum clients, and being 1 year out from having my first kid and being in possibly the best shape of my entire life, I felt I could not only help postpartum women get amazing results, but I could also relate to them on a personal level.

So I created a post about postpartum fitness and how freaking hard it was. How fitting back into my pre-baby skinny jeans was hard, how the hunger pains from breastfeeding turned me into a hangry monster, and how working out seemed to calm my postpartum depression symptoms.

I figured I had literally nothing to lose (I already wasn’t booking clients) so let’s see what happened.

And y’all, I kid you not, within 3 days I was fully booked.

The reason why I’m telling you this is to show you what niching down can and will do for your business.

So let’s dive into why you should be niching down in your business, no matter how you serve your clients or what kind of business it is that you run. This is necessary for ALL businesses, no matter if you’re in network marketing, service-based, product-based, DIY, coaching, course creation. Whatever kind of business you own, you need to have a specific niche.

  • Work smarter, play harder this summer
It’s almost that time of the year. ⠀
    ⠀
The most enjoyable, yet *sometimes* the most stressful time of the year.⠀
    ⠀
For me, I have about 4 weeks until Camden is home all summer so I am in serious summer prep mode. ⠀
    ⠀
And so if you’re seeing the impending summer break as an impending doom, this episode is totally for you.⠀
    ⠀
This summer I’m going to have 16 month Nora and 5 year old Camden home with me full-time and so I want to share with you how I’m still going to be serving my Legacy Mastermind clients, creating amazing content for my membership site and simultaneously scaling, The Lead Generation Lab, AND still have time for the podcast, serving my Facebook community, and doing #allthethings businesses, WHILE also having a life and enjoying the heck out of my family time.⠀
    ⠀
So let’s talk a bit about back-end systems. Here’s my philosophy on this:

Your business should have some sort of mechanism to build your business FOR you, while you’re actually living your life. It’s the entire premise of the Lead Generation Lab because it’s a HUGE value for me and for my clients. Your business should serve YOU, not you serve it.

So having automation implemented is imperative here.

And if you don’t have automation just yet, it’s key to your growing your business so you really need to dive into it. Your sanity depends on it!

Now automation looks different for everyone, but here is what it looks like for me:

Facebook and Instagram Ads for a freebie, that freebie is hooked to an email sequence that develops the know, like, and trust factor AND also pitches them a paid program like the Lead Generation Lab or my Facebook Group course: From Wallflowers to Groupies.

I am going to be putting a huge emphasis on this this summer simply because I feel like it’s time. I’ve done a lot of active launching this year to test out sales funnels and Facebook Ads, I know what works, and most importantly what doesn’t work, and so it’s time to maximize that knowledge. Everything I’ve done up to this point this year, has been to automate my business the second half of the year.

And so if you’re thinking right now, “Well I don’t have that knowledge yet. I haven’t been thinking this far ahead.” It’s totally fine, you can still have a summer that grows your business AND is a lot of fun.

Here’s what I think you should do:

Develop an AMAZING freebie. Do your market research, figure out the deep pain point your ideal client is suffering from. Create this freebie in the method that they most prefer (video training, checklist, swipe copy, quiz).

You don’t necessarily have to have a BIG email sales funnel hooked up. What if you attached a three email nurture sequence to this freebie. A simple, “Hey, let’s get to know one another!” sequence that was easy for you to write. After they go through the nurture sequence they get rolled over onto your mailing list where they receive updates and/or promotions once or twice a week.

This will allow you to still grow your email list, while still offering amazing value to your new subscribers through a super effective freebie.

Now I do think you need a Facebook and Instagram Ad strategy. I truly think that Facebook and Instagram Ads will get you the most bang for your buck. AND you can manage these for yourself. Buy a course and dive in. This is something you can implement NOW and once an Ad is running well, you can check in with it and tweak and adjust as needed.

But get the base down NOW.

In this episode I share with you what I’m doing to work smarter, not harder this summer. I’m sharing this with you is to help you to see what you could do to help set you up for success this summer while wrangling those amazing kids of yours AND still building your business. ⠀

Wendy Breakstone is a seasoned Small Business Coach & Systems Mentor with more than 18 years of experience helping entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses. Wendy has a diverse business management and marketing background that includes working for a best-selling spiritual author, owning and managing a 6-figure web development and marketing consultancy, to expanding her own business knowledge working with companies GoToMeeting.

Today Wendy follows her passion for small business systems and focuses on mentoring and training entrepreneurs that need to remove the bottlenecks in their business by guiding them through creating and implementing systems and strategies for long-term, scalable success.

    QUICK TAKEAWAYS:

Wendy talks about how you can turn your perceived weaknesses into your greatest strengths. She also talks about stretching yourself and putting yourself out into the online world in a confident way.

One of the main points Wendy talks about is how important it is as Mompreneurs to take care of ourselves first. She shares that making sure you as the center of the household are happy and taken care of, is vitally important for the happiness of your whole family.

Wendy’s top business productivity tip is to focus on ONE single daily action. She says that anxiety and overwhelm can come from having “squirrel vision” (trying to do too many things, and that focusing in one your single daily action will alleviate a lot of that stress.

For those struggling with anxiety, Wendy shared with us how to not let fear/anxiety take the wheel. She had a wonderful mindset shift around anxiety; “You have anxiety, it doesn’t have you”.

  • Organic vs. paid traffic
The great debate in the online space is ALWAYS this one thing…

Organic vs. paid traffic….which one is better?

    And the truth?

One is not better than the other. There are pros and cons to both.

If we expect to grow our businesses, we need to be constantly in front of new potential clients, building the know, like and trust factor. And so we need to have a strategy in place for getting front of those new people.

Now the next step is figuring out the HOW. How are we going to FIND these new people? Now there are a TON of strategies out there that involve both paid and organic marketing. And everyone has an opinion about which one is better.

I know some online entrepreneurs who have built 6-figure businesses on organic traffic, and organic traffic alone.

I know some online entrepreneurs who have built 6-figure businesses on paid traffic, and paid traffic alone.

Both types of traffic have their pros and cons and so today I’ll be chatting through some of those pros and cons and really breaking down what this actually looks like for you, as someone who is building a 6-figure business online, mostly through social media.

And before we dive into today’s content, I do want to say that I think that we, as online entrepreneurs, should be getting traffic from as many sources as we can. Organic AND paid traffic are both equally valid in my mind. I do think there is a time and a place for both, and I’ll be talking a bit more about that.

Now as we go through these pros and cons I’m going to use a specific example of building your email list through downloading a freebie/lead magnet/opt-in, whatever you want to call it!

  • Anything is possible with Stephanie Skryzowski
Stephanie Skryzowski is a visionary Chief Financial Officer with over a decade of experience leading purpose-driven organizations. She is the Founder and CEO of 100 Degrees Consulting which helps leaders better understand, use, and communicate their financials to build their bottom line and make a greater impact on the world.

Stephanie is known for making numbers easily understandable and speaks frequently about storytelling with financials - how to communicate your mission and impact with numbers. She has vast experience working with leaders around the globe in Nepal, Haiti, Senegal, Afghanistan, and other far-flung locales.

Stephanie is married to Mark and mama to Kyla (2 years old).

    QUICK TAKEAWAYS:

Stephanie’s superpower is making talking about money not scary. For so many women, particularly mompreneurs there is a lot of shame and fear wrapped up in money. Stephanie meets her clients where they are and makes the “money talk” a judgement-free zone.

Early on in her business, Stephanie realized that she couldn’t do #allthethings! She got help at home with her daughter and hired a VA to hook together her systems to help her business run smoother. That’s when the growth started to pick up!

Stephanie has built her business upon a building block strategy. It has helped her to figure out the action that needs to go into accomplishing goals. In short the building block strategy looks like this: If she wants to achieve X goal, how many Y’s does she need to sell to make that a reality?

According to Stephanie one of the biggest blind spots that entrepreneurs have is no clear plan mapped out to achieve their goals.
