This episode discusses violence, murder, and the death of a young boy. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander listeners should know we will be using his name throughout the episode. If this raises any issues please reach out to the resources listed below.
The death of 15-year-old Cassius Turvey has sent shock and anger around the country. Outrage is one thing, but what are you going to do with it? This isn't an isolated incident and Brooke and Matty are tired of this being a very real part of First Nations kids' lives. Enough is enough. What are you going to do about it?
We take you through the Gina Rinehart V Australian Netball Team news that kicked off last week because of *checks notes oh yeah what a surprise* deeply racist comments made by Lang Hancock (Rinehart's late father and founder of Hancock Prospecting PTY LTD). Rinehart had offered a $15million funding boost to Netball Australia and members or the team didn't feel so great about being sponsored by someone who advocated for the sterilisation of Aboriginal Australians only 50 odd years ago.
Plus Rachel Corbett - the head of Nova Podcasts - announced she is pregnant, and is doing it solo. We talk about how badass that is, and how Brooke and Matty can't wait to make their families whether or not the right partner is in their lives.
Nova Entertainment acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we recorded this podcast, the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respect to Elders past and present.
