On todays Zero Limits Podcast I am joined by Kyle Knight former US Army Forward Observer from 3rd Squadron 61st Cavalry Regiment.
Kyle Knight was a Forward Observer in Red Platoon, Bravo Troop 3-61 Cav. Kyle offers an perspective of what life was like on Keating before October 3, 2009 the Command Outpost Keating in the Nuristan province of Afghanistan was attacked by more than 300 Taliban fighters. Kyle talks in depth about the hours fighting on the ground to win back American control of the combat outpost. He and his unit of just 53 U.S. cavalry scouts ultimately repelled over 300 Taliban fighters while defending COP Keating. Eight Americans lost their lives, hundreds of enemy were killed. Two Medals of Honors were awarded along with multiple other awards including 27 Purple Hearts and this battle goes down as the deadliest and one of the most infamous of all the War on Terror.
