Jo Fairley is one of the UK's leading female entrepreneurs. After becoming the UK’s youngest-ever magazine editor, at the age of 23, she set out on her entrepreneurial journey in 1991 when she co-founded Green & Black’s Chocolate, now a $100 million a year brand. She is co-founder of beautybible.com (which grew out of the bestselling Beauty Bible series) and The Perfume Society, and before lockdown travelled the UK and Europe motivating audiences with lessons from her business and life journey.
When we started this podcast, we wrote a list of our dream guests. Right at the top of that list was Jo Fairley, so we feel very honoured to have had her agree to be a part of season 2. She was on that list because of how much of an expander she serves as—for women and for our holistic health community.
In this episode we speak about how our time in lockdown can be an opportunity for growth and how it’s helping people to take responsibility for their own healthcare. We also discuss the nuances of owning and running businesses, where Jo kindly offers tips on entrepreneurship, what makes it work, what not to do, how to follow your intuition in business, and how a positive partnership works - all things that people starting out will find helpful, informative and motivating. Jo also talks to us about life by the seaside and how it’s helping her to be healthier, and of course, there was lots of talk about chocolate!
