It has been a pleasure talking with Phylip in Episode 094, about his life-changing event as he battled Tuberculosis. This time, I couldn’t think of anyone that I can do it with, except Phylip Morgan himself. This is definitely a perfect balance of laughter and tears, as we just get along without any piece of script or pre-prepared questions.

Initially, Phylip enabled me to start with and talk about that one life-changing event that happened between me and my wife, Wendy. This is something I never talked about in public but has an integral part in me, especially in how I’ve dealt with these challenges with our son for the past 22 years. It was then I talked about what happened to us that changed our lives forever.

For Phylip, the kickstart is a real up-to-date talk about a part of my life. 

As we go along, Phylip emphasized the unavoidable highs and lows in life, and he gave me an avenue to express how me and my wife reacted and faced the diagnosis of our son Daniel. With that, firstly I was able to recall two unforgettable moments of how Epilepsy happens so randomly.  Then I talked about how we came about with the best decision, that impacted Daniel’s growth and also us. A tipping point, in the word – acceptance.  

Phylip then opened a bit about how he handled and went through his father’s health condition, which led me to share how me and my wife, as a couple, continued with this lifetime situation we are in. It was a total recall of the struggles, rejections, and differences we faced together prioritising Daniel’s needs, and how I fought for them. Also, the part where I talked about what gives me more drive to continue despite someone or something stopping me, even in the world of my business or with the work we do with the MSPs.

As we talked about how we are being motivated, Phylip allowed me to get back into some moments where I was still in the corporate world and the encounter I had with a random man. A reminder of how me and Stuart managed and get along with our business and the different clients we face every day.

Lastly, Phylip asked me to give some advice to the people who experienced the same personal and business struggles I have.

As we wrap the episode, Phylip commended how everyone should relate to starting really with a great team, as he talks about one of the books that got him hooked. From there, we then had the time to talk about what we see in the five years ahead of us, as a father and someone hustling in the business we have.

I really do hope you did not just enjoy this episode but were able to get some real important work-life lessons, because as much as Phylip and I enjoyed recording this, and the whole IT Experts team enjoyed creating it.
