People are suffering and we’re bombarded with reminders and images of their struggles. Which, in turn, leads us to suffer for them.

In some ways, it’s a beautiful, compassionate illustration of our oneness that we suffer for complete strangers. We celebrate with them too. We are them and they are us and we deeply know it. 

But there’s an interesting way in which our suffering for others can sometimes be even worse than their suffering. When we suffer for others, our mind discounts all that we all have working on our behalf. Our mind only lets us feel our made up version of their suffering, not the resources they have at their disposal, working through them. 

In this episode I share some really beautiful stories of the peace, resourcefulness, and even joy that often break through our suffering. These are so easy to forget when we’re suffering for others.
