After speaking with Britt Hartley in last week's episode, several listeners sent me the same video of Jared Halvorson attempting to call women back to the church. Today, I want to respond to that video and continue exploring how the tools of organized religion—Christianity in particular—were not designed with women in mind. We’ll dive into the harmful ways institutions view women and examine how patriarchy affects everyone--even those with good intentions. Here’s what I cover:

• How institutional patriarchy teaches even the most well-meaning men to uphold systems that don't serve women
• Why leaving the church can be an incredible reclamation of power for women
