Dr. DeJarra K. Sims ND is a published author and licensed Naturopathic Doctor in the State of California. Known to her patients as Dr. DJ, she currently serves on staff at Nourish Medical Center in San Diego where she has a focus in Naturopathic Dermatology. She received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Prairie View A&M University, in Texas and completed her doctorate at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Arizona. Additionally, Dr. DJ has special interest in community medicine and the prevention of diabetes, heart disease and obesity and frequently works with community and faith organizations to bring principles of Naturopathic Medicine throughout the nation and abroad. Dr. Sims is known for her lively presentations, in part due to her training in improvisational comedy at The Second City in Hollywood. When not treating patients, she can be found doing stand-up at various opens mics in and around San Diego.
