Episode #234: Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis - The Forgotten Side of the Energy Expenditure and Weight Loss Equation

Did you know that the amount of calories that you burn when you are not exercising is more important than the calories that you burn while you are formally exercising? 

Our total energy expenditure consists of exercise energy expenditure and non-exercise energy expenditure also referred to in the scientific community simply as NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis; non-simple, I know). 

The cool thing about this non-exercise activity thermogenesis is that it seems to be regulated very different from person to person. Some people naturally do less of it and this seems to be one of the important driving factors in obesity and weight loss success.

Tune in today to learn more about NEAT and why it is important to focus on your daily movements and track if you are struggling with dropping weight.
