Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.

Episode 269: Weight Loss Goals as You Age

Listen Later

Have you updated your weight loss goals in the past few years? Or do you still aim for the body you had 20 years ago? Today we’re going to talk about why your goals need to change with you as you grow and as you age. And doing this intentionally can feel wonderful.

In February we talked about subjects that related to how you eat. And In March we mostly talked about how we think and how it affects all that we do and how we eat.

And this month, in April we are talking about caring for ourselves…the love part of my Eat, Think, Love Program to stop overeating. Today we are working on weight loss goals as you change, as you age. Because hating yourself and your body as you age is so self-defeating.

This is an important subject. No matter what your age is right now.

Let’s look at where you are right now in your journey to stop overeating…does it feel like you’re stuck? And not making progress?

If this feels true to you, I want you to ask yourself if you’re looking at yourself through the eyes of the HS or college version of you?

And right now, are you maybe 10 or 20 or 30 years beyond that time of your life?

Things change with time, and your goals change too, even your goals for how you want to eat. And what you think your weight should be.

So, how are your goals defined right now?

  • Is your appearance number one?
  • Or fitting in?
  • Getting others’ approval?
  • Attracting a partner?
  • Feeling worthy?
  • I want you to acknowledge your current driver…the thing that motivates you to do this personal work on yourself.

And ask yourself, is your ‘why’ really current?

Join me as we look at weight loss as we age: how to think about it so it’s achievable and feels good.
