Episode 35: Engage in Relationships Through Play

Listen Later

Something that keeps coming up (and that's unavoidable) is change. In our relationships, we often experience the most conflict because we want the other person to change. However, you simply can not change the relationship you have, you can only change the way you relate to it. Sonia C. has been experiencing this all too well as she is living in a foreign country and some of her American beliefs don't always transfer over into this new culture.

This week’s theme is about: Change and Relationships

Sonia C. went to her first improv class. It was scary. She didn't want to go. Sonia T. had to talk her into going! Sonia C. started laughing because she recently gave advice to a client about ego. When your ego gets invited to do something new and different and strange, it freaks out; and that's exactly what was happening with Sonia C. before going to this class! At the end of your ego freaking out, it's really just questioning, 'Will I die?'

And wow, Sonia C. is so glad she went. Sonia T. understands this feeling, too. She was dragged to her first improv class by her mother a few years ago and she was kicking and screaming all the way up to the door. However, once she was in it, she had so much fun. She got to experience play, she got to engage in a brand new way, and she learned something new about people and relationships. Sonia T. has learned that the more you can trust the people around you, trust the process, the more fun you will have.

Question of the Week: I over share what my spirit wants me to do with others, hoping they'd join me, why do I keep getting this impulse when it's obviously a message for just 'me'?

Tool of the Week: Take a little bit of conscious time to connect with your fellow man or woman. Be present. Connection and intuition are intertwined with each other.
