Listen Later

Welcome back to the Sustainable Clinical Medicine Podcast!

In today's episode, we have a very special guest joining us, Dr. Krystal Sodaitis. Dr. Sodaitis brings a unique perspective to the world of clinical medicine with her MPH degree and expertise in utilization management and health plans. She understands the challenges physicians face when trying to provide excellent patient care within the constraints of policies and literature.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Sodaitis is also a certified coach, specializing in supporting gifted adolescents and young adults, as well as individuals with neurodevelopmental diagnoses.

We'll also be discussing the importance of finding strategies and strengths to help individuals navigate new challenges and create sustainable models of clinical medicine.

Here are 3 key takeaways from this episode:

1️⃣    Broadening Perspectives: Having an MPH (Masters of Public Health) degree alongside clinical practice offers physicians a broader perspective on health, including utilization management and health plans. It's crucial to care for the overall population's health, but policies and literature can sometimes limit what physicians believe is best for their patients.

2️⃣    Neurodiversity & Strengths: The neurodiversity community recognizes that no brain is entirely good or bad. In fact, many successful entrepreneurs have dyslexia, showcasing that the dyslexic brain benefits entrepreneurship. It's essential to see the strengths and beauty in individuals, regardless of their neurodevelopmental diagnoses.

3️⃣    Coaching for Sustainable Success: Coaching can provide the support and encouragement needed for individuals to successfully navigate challenges and create sustainable ways of doing things. Physicians and clinicians believe in their patients' capabilities to take on new and challenging tasks.

Stay tuned for an insightful conversation with Dr. Krystal Sodaitis on how we can create a more sustainable approach to clinical medicine.
