Expressing thankfulness, or gratitude, is known to have positive effects on our mood and attitude. The positive benefits of acknowledging and expressing gratitude have been shown to last for weeks and months! And will be a motivator to keep you moving in the direction of living a healthy lifestyle at a healthy weight. Most of us are reminded from time to time to focus on what’s good and right in our world… in other words, we make a list of things we’re grateful for to counterbalance all the things we think are so wrong in our lives at the moment. That’s a good practice and can help to snap us out of a bad mood or short-term funk. However, an attitude of gratitude, or being aware of the things we’re grateful and thankful for throughout each and every day can be a game-changer in life!
